Chapter 34: You remembered

Carter's POV

"I can't believe you right now " Bella frowned at me from across the room as she leaned on the kitchen counter with her hands folded across her chest. "How  could you even do something like this"

"Baby all I did was buy a new one I didn't know it would be such a big deal to you" I shrugged

"How can you say that. You know how much I love him"

"Bella it's just a freaking teddy bear for God's sake"

"It's more than just a teddy bear"she argued looking hurt"it's a teddy bear that you won for me on our very first date.  Do you even know how much he meant to me and now your just trying to replace him with.. That stupid thing" she pointed at the innocent pink dinosaur with detest.

"Bella I just thought-"

"That what?he wasn't good enough?" she flared. I stood still not knowing how to calm her from this emotional tantrum . I had no idea it really meant so much to her considering it was so long ago"how dare you" she scowled

I reached for her but she swatted my hands away and turned her back to me.

"Princess I'm sorry" I apologized sincerely wrapping my hands around her from behind. She didn't respond. I leaned around placing a soft kiss on her cheek.

"I really didn't mean to offend you. I just thought Mr. Teddy might need a friend, for.. you know when we're out" I said"you don't want him being all alone and sad now do you?" I questioned. She looked up at me.

"I'm not mad that you bought the dinosaur Carter" she said turning towards me"I'm mad that you actually thought the teddy bear didn't mean anything to me. Every time I look at him I just somehow feel like he's apart of  our relationship, he's family too you know"

"I'm sorry,  I should have known"I apologized "does that mean you don't want the Dino?"

"just put it on the nightstand " she suggested.  I nodded deciding to take it there later. I watched her as she moved about the kitchen preparing breakfast, I could still see the hurt played across her face. I can't believe I was stupid enough to not know how special that bear was to her, how could I have missed something like that after all she has had it for so long.  

"What were your plans for today" I asked taking a seat on a stool.

"Nothing really"she shrugged nonchalantly. I smiled.

"Why do you ask?"

"Nothing, just wanted to know " she looked up at me curiously and I had to fight with everything in me to suppress the enormous grin that was edging at my lips.

We were both now busy getting dressed in our room as bella pestered me every now and then about where we were going. I decided to take her somewhere this evening where we can relax just the two of us, no distractions nothing,  just us.

"You always do this" she pouted as I pulled up the zipper of the blue and white floral dress she was wearing. Ignoring her with a small smile I helped her to fix on the laced sandals that seemed to have been giving her much trouble.

"But you always turn out liking it in the end, now don't you"

"That still doesn't mean you can't at least give me a hint "
