proposing missions

finally an happy one shot! i'm sorry if i've been writing sad ones but i'm in a bad mood and i can't do happy things, my bad. i hope you'll enjoy this!! i don't know if this will be long though.

stephen and tony are on a mission together, collaborating to defeat the sudden alien attack near the avengers headquarters.

tony is holding back the biggest storm meanwhile stephen defends the entrance of the building by killing the monstrous creatures held back by tony.

its time when Steve, Rhodey and Bucky joins them, killing off most of the enemies. the three decide to go on the spaceship to get it away from earth.

all of a sudden stephen gets injured but it's nothing that could kill him. he's got a broken leg, therefore he falls to the ground and whimpers in pain. all the aliens are getting on stephen, obviously trying to kill him.

his sling ring slipped off his fingers and he is pretty much harmless without it. he can't do nothing but defend himself with his bare hands screaming for help.

as tony hears him, he just flies towards them and knocks them off with his ultra beam and repulsors.

he finds Stephen shaking on the ground, holding his leg

"hey, hey you alright?" tony says, taking off his helmet and kneeling near stephen

"not dead, i'm guessing so. i think i have a broken leg." stephen answers as he looks at his leg

"and you say that you're alright? you need medical help, stephen, and no talk back!"

"tony.. i was a doctor. i am a sorcerer. i can fix that by myself."

"then why didn't you do that sooner?!" tony's voice sounds angry and disappointed.

"i lost my sling ring somewhere.." stephen says looking down embarrassed.

Tony let's out a little "oh" and places a hand on his cheek "i'm gonna look for that now. stay here" he says softly.

"well i'm pretty sure i can't actually move from here" stephen teases, sarcastically.

tony grins and starts looking for the sling ring. after about 10 minutes he finds it under a corpse of an alien

"gross." he says while coming back to stephen.

he is still sitting there, eyes closed, whimpering.

"i found it Steph." tony says happily, landing near him.

"stephen?" he gets closer to the injured man and noticed he had fallen asleep.

stephen slowly wakes up as he hears tony's voice calling him

"for how much time have you been away?" he says softly

"about ten minutes.. why'd you ask?"

"it felt like it was an eternity.. i guess time without you doesn't even pass anymore." stephen says blushing.

"ah trust me, time will pass even without me." tony jokes off, giving him the sling ring.

he puts it on and smiles at him

"this could go wrong. if i get knocked out bring me to wong's. stay back."

tony backs off and looks concerned
"are you sure you can do that? can't you go at the hospital or-"

"hospital? boring. i can do this myself, i don't need that." he interrupts tony. "stay ready"

stephen starts to cast some spells on it an actually starts screaming for the pain

tony tries to get closer but gets rejected by stephen's hand, telling him to stay there.

as he finishes, he collapses and groans, letting out a few whimpers.

"are you okay stephen?" tony finally says sitting near him wiping away the tears on stephen's cheek

"i didn't know that was gonna hurt that much. i studied the molecular welding of the bones when i was a kid. never thought i could've done that by myself in my future."he chuckles and looks at tony "are you injured dear?"

tony blushes at his words "no i'm fine, just a few scratches and as usual, broken nose. it doesn't hurt anymore, i'm just used to it" he giggles

stephen decided to propose to him after the mission, and he thinks this is the right moment for it.

he fakes to hard breathe "i- i can't breathe."

tony shrugs "oh yeah is that for my insane gorgeousness? me too then" he jokes

"t-tony i am serious i-" he curls up and rolls over the other part to make tony stand up and face him

"STEPHEN?!" he immediately gets up and tries to pick him up but gets blocked by stephen kneeling in front of him.

"you leave me breathless every time i see you. Your love is something that I can't control. You are on my mind and heart all the time. Before I met you, I was not familiar with the feeling of love. But now I came to know what love is. My heart misses its beats when I come closer to you. Come to me, hold my hand and then never leave it. I want to spend my life with you, and to walk beside you. All I want is to be with you all my life."

tony is on the verge of crying and doesn't realize what stephen actually means with that

"what on earth are you doing!?" he says holding back the tears

"Anthony.. " he creates a little velvet box, opens it, revealing a ring with an emerald, which is tony's favorite stone and kneels on one leg" will you marry me?"

tony shakes. he covers his mouth with his hands and backs off kneeling to face stephen
"yes..yes." he says sobbing.

"love, your left hand." he smiles widely

"oh, r-right." the smaller man frowns and gives him the hand.

stephen's hands are shaking even more than the usual for the excitement, and it's hard for him to put the ring on tony's finger

"damn my hands." he says most likely upset

"shh, you can do that honey. calm down." tony says, trying to calm him

stephen nods and takes deep breaths. as he calmed down he tries again and finally puts it on.

"i love you endlessly." tony says, kissing him after.

"It's so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life."

they laugh and both get up kissing, losing each other in the taste of their lips, mostly with dried blood on, thinking about how this could change their lives.

"You come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly. Anyone can catch your eye, but it takes someone special to take your heart."
