Chapter 29- The Reason

"Tapos na ang practice nila." Nanghihinayang na sabi ni Violet. Nakapagitna ako sa kanila ni Sakura para hindi daw ako gumawa ng katangahan.

Nagbabaan na ang ibang member ng band ni Jaxx. Naiwan sila ni Mia sa stage. May sinabi si Mia kay Jaxx na ikinatawa nito. Umiiling na kinuha ulit ang acoustic guitar.

"Hindi pa pala tapos." Sabi ni Sakura.

I saw how Mia breathed deeply. Kumuha din siya ng acoustic guitar at tumingin kay Jaxx. He gave her a nod.

"Show off na si Mia ah... Daming alam tugtugin." Comment ni London. Hindi ko pinapansin si London sa mga sinasabi niya. Si Chase, tahimik lang naman lagi yan na nanonood.

Mia started to play a song that I don not recognized. I thought it's another song that Jaxx composed but then Mia started to sing.

"I'm so glad you made time to see me"

"Ohhhh.." Sabay na nagtakip ng bibig sila Violet at Sakura. I can still see them  at my peripheral vision even I am staring at Mia.

How's life, tell me how's your family?
I haven't seen them in a while

"Oh my God" Sabi ng dalawang katabi ko.

I was speechless... She is staring at me and not a single time looked at the strings of her guitar. Sakura and Violet started to shake me... Pero napako ako sa pagkakaupo. She can sing...and her voice is kinda sad.

We small talk, work and the weather

"Is that a sorry song?" Tanong ni Violet kay Sakura. "It's a sorry song right?"
I felt Sakura nodded.

Because the last time you saw me
Is still burned in the back of your mind
You gave me roses and I left them there to die

"Hala...kinikilig ako, Ralph." Hinampas ni Sakura ang braso ko pero hindi ko sila nilingon.
If this is a sorry song, why does she singing it?

So this is me swallowing my pride
Standing in front of you saying I'm sorry for that night
And I go back to December all the time

"Di ba dapat ikaw ang nagso-sorry?" Tanong ni London pero hindi ko ulit siya pinansin.
"Shhhh..." Bawal ni Violet at Sakura sa kanya.

"Alam mo... mamaru ka na naman." Mahinang comment ni Chase sa kay London.

These days I haven't been sleeping
Staying up playing back myself leaving
When your birthday passed and I didn't call

"Anong mamaru?" Tanong ni London.
"Mamarunong." Maikling sagot ni Chase.

And I think about summer, all the beautiful times
I watched you laughing from the passenger side
And realized I'd loved you in the fall

The day that I met her played through my mind. How she looked so lost?! How beautiful she was with that messy bun.

And then the cold came, the dark days when fear crept into my mind
You gave me all your love and all I gave you was goodbye
