They were all sat at the far end of the blencher. The game was shit, really shit. Iris wasn't even sure why she was watching it. It was torture.

"Why doesn't Marshall admits he was wrong and allows us to come back?" Helen flinched as the new Chaser - a boy from fourth year - missed yet another shot.

"He won't do it. You know that, El." Iris said. "What I don't know is why the hell Johnson doesn't grab the bloody Snitch and finish the game. I mean... It's not like our Seeker will do it. What's his name, again?"

"Jackson."

"Well... He sucks."

"Yeah, but he's Marshall's best friend and always have wanted to play Seeker." Helen said, remembering all the times she saw both of them sitting together at Classes. "He hates you for taking his place."

"Well, he took mine, so I guess we're even."

Iris groaned as Ravenclaw scored yet another goal. Remus, who was sitting right in front of her in the line in front of her leaned gently against her legs. He looked up and smiled, as Iris did the same.

"Yeah, this team really sucks." James, who was sitting beside his friend, noted.

"Oh, really, James?" Iris rolled her eyes. "Well thank you for that thoughtful insight. I wouldn't have realized it alone."

"Bloody hell, Little Evans. Your sarcasm is worse than Remus'."

"And that's saying something." Peter added.

Iris giggled a bit, before Helen gripped her arms quite harshly.

"Oh, Merlin!" She whined. "We should be grateful Daniel is one the team."

"We're losing by how much?"

"A hundred."

"A hundred?" Iris yelled and Helen nodded, not once allowing her eyes to leave the Pitch.

"Yeah, but we'd be losing by a lot more if it wasn't for him." She said. "Marshall is good, too, but his two other Chasers, I mean... Katherine Humble and Corianne Quill were so much better than them. If only he had... Oh, bloody hell! I can't watch this anymore."

"A hundred and ten." Iris groaned, placing her face on her hands, annoyed. "We're losing by a hundred and ten. This is so embarrassing, oh my God..."

"And there goes our chances of winning this year." Helen crossed her arms over her chest and falls back against the bench.

"No, come on, we can still win. I mean... Not with this team, of course, but like..." Iris looked at Helen as all possibilities for games and tactics started to flow into her head. "Say we get Marshall out, right? We put Humble and Quill in the team, keep Dan and the Beaters 'cause they're good. And you and me. It'd be a good team. So if we lose by a hundred and ten, all we need is for Gryffindor lose from Slytherin by at least fifty and then Ravenclaw lose for Gryffindor by like... Seventy. And then, we beat Slytherin and Gryffindor and we're back in the game."

"Right." Helen rolled her eyes. "And what are the possibilities of this happening, Iris, really? Gryffindor losing to Slytherin by fifty? You're mad."

"Thank you, cutie." Sirius turned around in his seat beside Peter and winked at Helen. The girl blushed slightly. "Our team is great, doll. There's no way we're losing for Slytherin, come on..."

"Shut up, Sirius." Iris rolled her eyes at the boy. "You don't even play."

"But I do! And I'm Captain this year." James protested. "And I'm offended that you think I'd let my team lose to the snakes!"

"Firstly, I've already told you not all Slytherins are snakes. Secondly, That's what's called competition, James, dear." Iris said, reaching a hand to mess with his hair. "You should get used to it. That's how the real world works."

James huffed and crossed his arms in front of his chest in annoyance, turning around just in time to see Johnson catching the Snitch. Madam Hooch whistled, signalizing the games was – finally – over and Iris and Helen exchanged a look.

"20 against 270. That's like... The worst result we've ever had."

Helen barely nodded, before getting up from her seat and running down the blenchers toward where Daniel and the two Beaters were flying. The blonde girl turned around, waving Iris over. She also got up and walked down the steps toward them.

"Great game, boys." Iris said, sarcastically.

"Shut up, Iris." Daniel rolled his eyes at her. "We were discussing... What are the chances of you coming back to the team? Both of you, we mean."

"With Marshall as Captain? None."

"No, we also don't want Marshall as Captain." Luke Galway, one of the Beaters, said.

"Who'll be the Captain, then?"

"You." Daniel answered.

"Me?" Iris frowned.

"Yeah, come on... You're like... The best player Hufflepuff has had in years." Dave Martin, the other beater and a Sixth Year like her, complimented. Before she could protest, he shook his head. "I've seen your schemes during Astronomy class and you're the only one who actually understands the sum of points of this bloody game. If there's anyone that'll get us to win is you."

Iris looked from Dave to Helen and then to Daniel. They all nodded. She smiled gently.

"Fine, get Marshall and Jackson out and I'll come in." Iris said. "And while you're at it, get the other Chasers out too. I want Helen, Katherine Humble and Corianne Quill in their place."

Daniel smirked slightly at her and Iris shook her head.

"Aye, Captain."

With a playful salute, he flew down to the ground with Dave and Luke hot in his tail. Helen watched them go and then turned to Iris with a broad smile on her face.

"We're back in the game, Irie!"

"Don't get too excited." Iris giggled, as Helen made an awkward celebration dance. "We don't know if this will work."

"Of course it will. It may not look like it, but Professor Sprout is crazy for Quidditch. The woman'll be willing to do anything to prevent us from losing badly like this again."

"Why did she even appointed Marshall as Captain in the first place?" Iris frowned.

"I have no idea. Probably because he's in his Seventh Year." Helen shrugged.

"So are you. And Dan."

"Well, I don't know, Iris." Helen sighed, loudly. "But what matters is that now, with this new team, there's no way we'll lose."

Iris was about to protest, but she saw Helen's glow of happiness, she couldn't bring herself to do it.

"Yeah, you're right, El." She smiled. "After all... That's our year."
