It was the crack of dawn and even if neither Lily nor Iris were morning people, they were happy with the timing. After all, no one was around, so no one would ask them why they were having breakfast at four in the morning on the Ravenclaw table covered in dark clothes and barely looking at each other.

"We're not going to be welcome there." Lily whispered as Iris took a sip of her tea.

"We never have." She responded, in the same low tone. "But they were our parents, Lily. We deserve to be there. If anything, at least to say a proper goodbye."

"But they didn't love us."

"Of course they did." Iris sighed, reaching over to grab her sister's hand. "I remember one day when we were six. We went to a farm. You and I were so charmed by all the animals and the nature and all that. Remember when we climbed that tree? I don't even know why we thought it was a good idea, but it doesn't matter. The important thing is... You fell and my God... Hell broke loose, remember? Petunia, mum and dad went into a frenzy checking if you were okay and if you had hurt yourself too badly but you were fine. I remember Petunia crying, begging mum to take you to the Hospital because of a bleeding cut you had on your arm. And mum almost did. She was so worried... But she looked away for a second and you were already running off to see the lambs with me. Remember that day?"

Lily giggled and nodded her head.

"Yeah. But why are you telling me this?"

"They loved us, Lily. They were just scared. Not of us, but of the different. They didn't know how to handle what we were, so they pushed us away. You can't tell me you've never done that."

"What?"

"Pushing people you care away because you can't handle your own feelings." She said, before biting her lip and looking down. "I know I did."

"Irie..." Lily started, but got cut short by another voice.

"Girls... Are you ready to go?"

It was McGonagall. She was supposed to take them to the Evans' funeral that day. Iris looked up from her sister to the Professor and nodded. Lily did the same. They both got up and Minerva smiled sadly at them, before placing a hand on each of their shoulders as they walked out of the Castle and into Hogsmeade.

"We'll be Apparating." The Professor announced. "Hold tight onto me, will you?"

Iris gripped Minerva's right arm and Lily gripped the left. The Professor pulled out her wand.

"Ready?" She asked.

Lily nodded, but Iris but her lip.

"Does it hurt? Is it dangerous?" She asked. Dumbledore promised he would teach them Apparition but it was just on next PC reunion.

"Have you ever done it?" McGonagall asked.

"No."

"Oh, then... Just hold tight."

And without a second warning, Iris felt herself being squeezed by all sides, without a foot on solid ground. She was sure she screamed, but she didn't hear a sound.

"Oh, Irie..." Lily cooed, as she patted her sister's back gently as the younger girl puked. "I'm sorry."

"It's alright." She mumbled weakly. "It's happened before. I've traveled by Floo Powder during summer and I threw up too."

"Don't worry, Miss Evans." McGonagall said. A small smile playing on her lips. "You get used to it."

"I surely hope so." Iris giggled slightly, getting back up to her feet and accepting the bottle of water Lily was offering.

"So... The funeral is about to begin." Minerva announced, as she looked over at the church in front of them. The church Lorraine and Vincent got married all those years ago. The church the Evans would go to every Sunday. The church that now, meant the official end of two fifties of the family. "I'll be waiting for you just up there. When you want to leave, just come and find me."

"Alright." Lily nodded. "Thank you, Professor."

With a last glance at their direction, McGonagall turned and left. Lily grasped Iris' hand and the younger girl squeezed it slightly.

"Ready?" She whispered. Lily closed her eyes.

"Yeah. I'm ready."

And together, they made their way to the church. As soon as they entered the place, every eye was on them. Iris looked down and so did Lily beside her. In silence, they walked up to an empty bench and sat down. They both ignored the stares. They both ignored the comments. They both ignored the whispers. But suddenly, there was a shriek they just couldn't possibly have ignored.

"What are they doing here?"

Iris looked up just in time to see Petunia standing by the entrance of the church, fuming at her. If it wasn't for the unusual situation and the fact that she was entirely in black, Iris could've sworn they were at least seven years ago, when she would shriek at them like that right after they had found out a new thing they could do.

"You invited us." Iris mumbled and Petunia huffed.

"I didn't think you would actually come."

"They are - were - our parents too!"

"But you've never loved them." Petunia spat. Every other guest shrunk on their seats, afraid of how the little family reunion would play out. "And they never loved you."

"That's not true." Lily said. Her voice low and weak and Iris knew she was just about to cry. "Don't be like this, Tuney."

"Don't call me that!" The older sister growled, now walking up to them. "You don't get to call me that. Not after what you did to them!"

"We didn't do anything." Iris defended and this time, Petunia didn't hold her despise back. The younger sister could feel the venom in every word thrown at her.

"Yes, you did! If it wasn't for you two and your... Your freaky talents you have... None of this would've happened! They would be alive!"

"Tuney..."

"No, Lily!" She yelled and Iris almost broke when she saw both of them crying. "My life would've been so much better if it wasn't for you!"

Iris gasped and Lily sobbed. Expecting her to fall to her knees, Iris reached over, but instead, Lily ran out of the church. Petunia watched her go. Iris whipped away her tears and looked at everyone standing there awkwardly on the room. She turned to Petunia.

"Well..." she said, hoping her voice wasn't as broken as she was feeling. "I guess you're life will be that much easier, then."

"Iris..."

"It'll be like we've never existed, Petunia." She glared at her sister before walking away toward the entrance of the church and her actual sister. "Cheers."
