I sat in the darkness.

"I'm glad we've come to such wonderful agreements."

"What?" The dark voice chuckled. "Cat got your tongue?"

"If you care so much about Harry, why are you trying to kill him?" I furrowed my brows.

"Why not?"

"Well you want me to protect him."

"Is that too big of a task?"

"..."

"I mean if you're going to lock souls with him, you can at least protect him."

"I do protect him." I snapped. "Stop dodging the question and answer me already!"

Voldemort stepped out of the darkness with his eyes glued to the ground, the mask on his face revealing nothing more.

"Fate has made my path."

"One day, I am going to die."

"I only wanted to be immortal...to evade what made me what I am today."

"Why do you fear death?"

"When you have everything taken away from you by death, you either want to live forever and wreck havoc or die trying."

"And what are you doing?"

"I have died before and escaped it."
