Chapter 10

"What were you thinking?" Ratchet asked sternly "For all we knew, you could have been in danger or even taken by the Decepticons. All of a sudden, none of you could be found anywhere in the base,"

My headache was getting really bad by now with all the loud noise, and Ratchet scolding us made bad memories that I wanted to forget so badly come to the surface of my mind.

Flashback
"LORA!" Derek yelled at me. "You listen to me, girl! You do what I tell you to do! Do you understand me?!"

"Yes," I whimper, trying to make myself as small as possible. He was holding onto my hair and was pulling it. My scalp hurt and I felt tears beginning to well up in my eyes. He was furious with me for not listening. I had told him that I didn't want to do the dishes and that if he wanted them done he could do it himself.

"I can't hear you! What did you say?!"

"Yes Sir, I heard you. I'm sorry," I said louder.

"Good, now get back to work," he said quietly into my ear. His rancid breath hot on my ear as he let go of my hair. He gave me a bit of a shove when he did. I stumbled, trying to get my balance. Once I got it, I looked at the ground and walked glumly back towards the sink, and washed the dishes. He stood by the fridge and watched my every move. The hairs in the back of my neck pricked and tingled. I knew he was there, but I still hated his glare. Those ice blue eyes glaring at me were burned into my memories forever.

"Lora you okay?" Jack asked me. I snapped out of the horrid memory back to reality.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I turned and walked away before Jack could question me any more. I didn't want to talk now, I just needed to think.

Grimlock's P.O.V.
"The other Predacons are almost ready, my liege," Shockwave said.

"Good work. What about these guys? Are they ready?" Megatron signaled to me and my comrades.

"No, they are not ready at this time. They still disobey orders."  I kept my face neutral and watched the Decepticons. Although, on the inside I smiled to myself. There was no way in the Allspark I was going to listen to these guys.

"Good luck making me a obedient warrior," I muttered. "Because no matter what you do, it's never going to work."

Smokescreen's P.O.V
I walked into the addition of the base that the kids had found and was shocked on how close it looked to our base, from the walls to the platform that looked just like the one that the kids had claimed. Wheeljack walked just behind me.

"Wow, this is uncanny of how close this is," He said as we looked around.

"Yeah, almost creepy like," I muttered. "I wouldn't be surprised to see Ratchet or someone walking out of the hallway."

Wheeljack muttered in agreement.

I bent down and crawled into the room that the secret entrance lead into. After getting through, I helped Wheeljack through and we pushed the door shut. I grabbed the welder Ratchet had given us and started to work on sealing the path. After a few minutes, we were done.

"It's done Ratchet, we need a ground bridge," I spoke into my com.

"Busy collapsing the tunnel. I'll tell the children to send one for you." Ratchet replied. A ground bridge opened up and we walked through. When we got back, Ratchet was welding the secret entrance in Lora's room shut.

"All done?" I asked.

"Yep, tunnel collapsed and door shut forever," Arcee answered.

Third Person P.O.V.
Optimus and Ultra Magnus drove into the base after they finish their patrol. Optimus looked around the base but only saw the children, not Ratchet or any of the other Autobots.

"Where is everyone?" Optimus asked as he walked up the the four children.

"In Lora's room," Jack replied, looking up the the Prime.

With a nod of thanks, Optimus and Ultra Magnus walked towards the hall, only to have Optimus stop in mid step. Ultra Magnus followed the Prime's gaze and saw Lora sitting on the couch with a dazed look on her face. She seemed lost in thought and never heard them when they arrived. Normally she would get up and ask whatever bot returned how their patrol or mission went.

Optimus averted his gaze after a moment of studying the newest human and continued to Lora's room.

When Optimus and Ultra Magnus finally arrived at Lora's room they saw that everyone was there and crowded around the left wall.

"What happened?" Optimus asked, sensing the atmosphere instantly.

"Well..." Ratchet started.

"How did we not know of this passageway?" Optimus asked after Ratchet had explained the whole story.

"Well, since this use to be an old missile silo, the other room might have been a escape route if their base had ever been over taken but we are not sure," Ratchet concluded. Optimus thought for a moment.

"I will tell Agent Fowler of your find," he replied. With that, he walked away to get a hold of Agent Fowler.
