Chapter 34

I was lying on the couch not doing anything when the alarm went off, letting everyone know that Agent Fowler was trying to contact us.

"Agent Fowler, what can we do for you?" Optimus asked as Agent Fowler's picture popped up on the main screen. All the Autobots, Dinobots and humans gathered to hear what he had to say.

"The cons just broke into one of our top-secret military bases. We don't know why," He said. Currently, Agent Fowler looked like he was seated in a helicopter. "From what I know, they took something, bu that's where my knowledge extends."

"Can you pull up security camera footage?" Raf asked.

"Not from here, you can only access it from within the facility," Fowler said. "If we could, I would have had that done by now."

"Raf can probably just hack the fire walls," I suggested.

"They're too thick, the top of this age," Agent Fowler shot down my suggestion.

I sighed, I was really hoping that would have worked.

"Then send us in. Raf can get into the system in no time flat if he's inside the facility," Miko said.

"I am not sure that is wise Miko. If the Decepticons are there, we would be putting you all in grave danger," Optimus objected.

"But you guys need to know what your up against," Jack shot back.

"And I can protect them with the amulet," I added. Optimus thought for a moment.

"Very well," Optimus sighed, "Lora, Rafael, Miko and Jack will go and get the security footage. Proceed with caution," Ratchet opened up a ground bridge as we all walked down the stairs towards it. Before we walked through, Smokescreen came up to me.
"Be careful Lora, please."

"I can't promise anything but I'll try," I put on a brave smile then walked through, following Miko, Raf and Jack.

We arrived in a large space with a few computers scattered around the room. There were some big screens mounted on the wall, all of them black and empty. Raf instantly went for one of the computers while Jack and I locked the door, waiting and watching for trouble. Miko was curiously observing what Raf was doing.

"Found out what the cons want," Raf said into his phone. "It's a box." Jack and I left our posts beside the door and went to see what Raf was talking about.

"Why would the cons want a box?" Arcee's voice drifted out from the phone.

"It might not be the box they want, but rather what is inside," Ultra Magnus pointed out.

Optimus spoke next. "We must not let them get it, at all costs."

I heard a clang, like metal falling and turned around to see the door fly off of its hinges. I quickly jumped in front of everyone and protected them. My shield appeared and the door hit it and rebounded off. The now empty door frame looked menacing, leading into unknown and dangerous territory.

Two tentacle like arms came in and I started to push them bac with my shield, trying to protect the others.

"Get out of here!" I yelled at Miko, Jack and Raf as I ducked under a tentacle. They ran for the door and I blocked the tentacles.

"Come on Lora, we've got to go!" Jack yelled hurriedly.

"Go without me!" I ordered. I never looked at them and held the shield up, blocking the tentacles. "I'll cover for you!"

"No! We aren't leaving without you," Miko objected. I turned my head and gave Jack a 'Just go, trust me' look. He grabbed Miko and Raf and steered them away. I turned back to the problem and just as my shield dropped, I dodged left. The purple and black tentacle narrowly missed me. The wind could be felt on my face as it flew past me.
