Chapter 17

When we returned back to base, Miko was there and got mad at us.

"You went on a mission without me. Then you were in a battle, without me!" She exclaimed, clearly having wanted to go.

"Miko..." I started.

"I know, you almost died, I get it." she smiled and gave us a hug  "But still, really." Miko scolded us as she walked up the stairs to the couch. The ground bridge shut off after everyone came through. Optimus looked down at me.

"Can you please explain what happened regarding the blast," Optimus asked. I took a deep breath and started.

"When the Energon shot came at me, Jack and Raf went down the tree, while I covered my head with my arms, creating an 'X'," I demonstrated with my arms. "Then the blue shield popped up and surrounded me. The shot hit my shield and then it absorbed it, I think. I felt the shield get stronger. The shield dispersed after the blast hit it," I finished. Optimus thought for a moment, then nodded his head.

"Why did the cons want the pod, better yet, who was in it? Autobot or Decepticon?" Arcee asked.

"Since the Decepticons fought so hard for that pod, it was one of their own," Optimus said. A light then passed over me. I turned around and looked at Ratchet.

"I told you, I'm fine," I glared.

"I know, but the Energon may have an effect on you."

"I'm fine," I repeated.

"If you start to fell unwell, come and tell me right away," he commanded sternly. I opened my mouth to tell him I was fine, but he shot me a look. I shut my mouth and agreed.

"I think our top priority is to find out who or what was in that pod and if there are anymore like it," Ultra Magnus commented.

"I agree," Optimus said. "Bumblebee and Smokescreen, you will go and investigate the area where the pod was, see if you can find any clues about its origins," The prime continued. "If you come across any Decepticons, you must not engage, even if you think you can handle them. Let us know of anything you find."

"Will do," Smokescreen assured.

Ratchet reopened the ground bridge and Bumblebee and Smokescreen went through.

A blinding pain flashed through my head, and I fell to the ground right after it closed. Ratchet saw me and said something that I couldn't hear. The pain was like fire, everything was so loud but silent at the same time. Then everything went black.

"Where am I?" I asked into the blackness. No one responded. "Hello?" I called. My voice echoed as I yelled. I felt something pull me, like an invisible hand. Not knowing what else to do, I followed it. I looked down at my feet, making sure I didn't trip over anything, but the ground was completely black. After stumbling in the darkness for a bit, I saw a faint light in the distance. I sprinted towards it. It was an odd experience, with no sound of my feet pounding on the ground and my breath never becoming ragged and in short bursts. I never tired, it was a weird experience.

Eventually, I was facing a bright light, that revealed two necklaces that looked like mine.

"The amulets of life and death," I muttered as I looked at them with awe. "Wait, how did I know that?" I can't read those ruins, they're from Cybertron.

"You can read it because I told you how," a voice said calmly.

"Who are you?"  I called into the blackness, slightly scared and afraid.
