I jolted from my thoughts as I realized what relic Megatron had been talking about. It was so obvious that I felt stupid for not thinking about it earlier.
"Ratchet, where is Optimus?" I asked, urgency in my voice.
"On patrol, he'll be back soon," he replied without looking up from his screen. I sighed and waited for the Prime to return. It seemed like forever, and while I waited, I dozed on and off. After some time, I woke up fully to see Raf on his laptop typing away.
"What are you doing?" I asked curiously.
"Oh nothing much. What was your father's name again?" he asked.
"He is not my father." I paused for a second to calm down then said "It was Derek. Has Optimus returned?"
"Nope,"
"Okay thanks," A few seconds later Optimus drove in and slowed to a stop before he transformed.
"Optimus!" I exclaimed while trying to get up. I hopped to the railing and leaned on it. The Prime turned and walked towards me. "I think I know what Megatron was referring to as the relic." I took off the necklace and showed him. "I remember picking it up on Friday after school and seeing the same red sports car follow me home." Optimus bent down a bit to get a closer view at the amulet that I was holding.
"This appears to be one of the relics from Iacon," he stated. I handed it to the Prime, letting him look over it himself.
In Optimus' grasp, the amulet looked really quite tiny. He held it between his index finger and thumb and carefully looked it over.
"These are ancient Cybertronian glyphs. In your tongue they read 'the Amulet of Life'," Optimus said, confirming our theory of the amulet being the relic.
"You can actually read those?" Smokescreen asked softly as walked over to the railing, his question sarcastic and rhetorical.
"I've never heard of that relic," Ratchet said, confused.
"You wouldn't of. It was a secret, and a well guard one at that too," Smokescreen said, his playfulness dissapear in as quickly as it came. "It was found once the war began between the Autobots and Deceptions and was kept a secret since then. The bots who found it were afraid of the Decepticons learning about it and stealing the amulet, due to the power they soon learned it had. They brought it to Alpha Trion, hoping he would keep it safe; I was there when they did so.
"Alpha Trion thought it would be best not to tell anyone about it other then Optimus, and made everyone who saw it swear not to speak of it, not even if we lost the war. It was for the reason that if the Decepticons found out about a weapon this powerful, they would no doubt try to steal it and use it against us. Even if we lost the war, they would undoubtedly use it to whatever then needed it to do.
"Whenever Alpha Trion could, he would study the amulet for reasons I never knew. I remember one particular day in which he stayed in his study and when he came out, he seemed different. It's hard to explain but he seemed like he lost part of himself. I was probably over reacting but I couldn't help it. He was my charge and I had to protect him." Smokescreen finished.
"What does it do?" I asked curiously.
"A lot of things, some of them are still not known. It will hum and glow when your enemies are near, it will also create a bubble of Energon around the owner and protect them."
"That would explain what happened at school," I said. Ratchet gave me a weird look and I sighed and I launched into an explanation.
"This bully at school went to punch me after I ticked him off and then a blue bubble appeared around me and he flew and slammed into the wall." I explained. "It also happened when Derek tried to punch me at home."
"That also accounts for what happened to the Decepticon's war ship. There was a power surge that hit it and disabled the shields, allowing us to find you aboard the ship. It must have bonded to you and protected you, even when you were far away," Ratchet explained, clearly deep in thought. His right hand was on his chin in a thinking posture and his glowing blue eyes were narrowed slightly.
The tingling felling that I felt when I first picked it up must have been it 'bonding' to me. Ratchet looked away, then whipped his head back towards me.
"What are you doing standing?! Go sit back down. You'll only hurt yourself more," he commanded. I turned and hobbled back to the couch.
"Lora, I ask that you remain with us for your own safety. With what happened with your guardian, I am deeply sorry," Optimus said as soon as I sat back down. "I think that I would be wise for you never take the necklace off. I fear that it is to valuable to be left unguarded for even a moment." He handed it back to me, and I clipped it onto my neck as he spoke
"Where will I be staying then?" I asked curiously while tilting my head slightly to the left.
"In the base. It would be safer for you and the relic," he replied. Optimus placed his hand up on the platform, signalling for me to get on. I struggled to get on without jarring my ankle, but eventually succeeded. Optimus then started walking down the hallway, his steps echoing.
As we walked, I looked around, never having seen this side of the base before. I saw training rooms, garage doors that had other relics behind them and large open rooms where I assumed was were the Autobots slept, or whatever their equivalent of sleep was.
We then stopped at the end of the long hallway in front of a doorway to a room. It was big enough for the Autobots to fit and also had a smaller human sized door. We didn't enter.
"This will be your berthroom but Ratchet has requested that you stay off your feet as much as possible until your ankle fully heals. Until then, you will be sleeping on the medical bed," he told me.
"Why not the couch?" I asked.
"He has seen you struggle up and down the stairs and thinks it would be unwise." I just nodded my head in response. I agreed, those stairs were kind of a problem.

Elsewhere
I struggled against my bonds, my comrades had given up hope of breaking free, but I refused to give in."Your attempt to escape is illogical," said the one eyed Shockwave as he stood in front of me with Knockout at his side. They watched me like their own personal entertainment.
"You're lucky the Autobots didn't find them," Knockout said. I growled, hating how they kept me here, locked up like their pet.
Knockout lowered himself down to my eyesight, observing me like an animal. I glared at him and snarled.
"So disobedient," He chuckled as he stood back up.
I was done with this, we all were. They claimed we were theirs since they 'made us' but, we weren't. I am no one's, just like my comrades; we weren't mindless brutes that listened to orders without a second thought. We had minds of our own and could do what we pleased, when we wanted, how we wanted. Yet we were stuck here and forced to bow down. But I would not yield, not now, not ever. Once I got out of here, and I would, they would feel my wrath, the wrath of Grimlock.
