Chapter 15

Lora's P.O.V.
After looking for anything that might refer to my amulet, Raf and I came up empty handed.
"Uhhhh," I groaned while flopping backwards "it's like this doesn't exist, but the ruins had a picture of it. There has to be something else."

Jack and Miko had given up racing a long time ago, Smokescreen and Bumblebee were out on patrol while Optimus and Bulkhead were investigating a Energon signal. Ultra Magnus and Wheeljack were checking out a Iacon relic beacon and Arcee was backup for any of the groups if needed. Ratchet was doing whatever Ratchet normally did.

"Want to take a break?" Raf asked.

"Please."

"Let's go find out what Jack and Miko are doing," Raf said. We walked down the stairs and started searching for Jack and Miko. Eventually we found them in the kitchen, raiding the pantries for snacks.

"Hey guys," Miko said while eating a granola bar.

"Hi," I said while walking over to the cupboard to get one for myself. "Want one?" I asked Raf as I pulled two of them out of the box and held them in the air. He nodded his head in confirmation.

"Find anything?" Miko asked me.

"Nope," Raf replied for me. "Absolutely nothing. We tried everything but couldn't even find a single reference."

"That sucks."

"Yep," I said glumly. Jack's phone started to ring. He excused himself and answered.

"I'm going back, you guys coming?" I asked.

"Sure. I just thought of an idea that we never tried when we were looking for hints about the amulet," Raf said. Miko just nodded her head. I walked back to the main room with Raf and Miko in pursuit.

When we entered the main room, we found Jack standing beside the couch still on his phone.

"Yep, I can't wait. I'll be home soon, Love you. Bye," Jack closed his phone and stuck it in his pocket. I cocked my head, questioning who he was talking to.

"My mom and I are going to see our relatives. Their out of town," Jack explained. "I'm so excited."

"Does that mean you'll be leaving soon?" Arcee asked from behind me.

"Not for another two weeks," Jack assured.

"We require a ground bridge." Ultra Magnus' voice came over the com system. "It was a fake, probably to get us out of the Energon mine," he continued. Ratchet turned and opened the groundbridge, and Wheeljack and Ultra Magnus walked through.

"Send us to the mine, it was a trap. I'm sure of it," Wheeljack said.

"If you say so," Ratchet shrugged. "Arcee, go with them just in case," he opened a ground bridge and they all walked through it into the mine.  As soon as they left, the proximity sensor went off.

"Agent Fowler is back," Ratchet grumbled. The elevator opened up and Agent Fowler walked out.

"What brings you here?" Ratchet asked.

"Prime told me about the ruins, I checked it out and couldn't find anything," Agent Fowler said.

"Nothing?" I questioned.

"Nothing. I blocked off the ruins and found no information regarding it. That picture you guys found on the internet, we couldn't even find who posted it. It was almost like someone removed it, and who ever it was is really good. They covered all their tracks, leaving no trace. I wouldn't have believed you if I didn't see the picture that Lora took."

"Hmm," I wondered what had happened to the picture. It couldn't be a coincident that nether Raf nor Agent Fowler had been able to find anything regarding those ruins.

"Ratchet! Ground bridge! Now!" Arcee yelled through the coms. Ratchet rushed to open a ground bridge. As soon as the swirling vortex opened, everyone came through. Optimus was limping and holding his side, Arcee had a few scraps and Bulkhead with a few dints. Ratchet rushed over and helped Optimus to the medical berth.

"Wheeljack was right. It was a trap," Arcee confirmed.

"We were doing fine until Megatron showed up. He was fighting Optimus then Predaking showed up and started to beat us to scrap. Optimus distracted Predaking long enough for us to get our bearings and fight back. Eventually he retreated but then Megatron took Optimus by surprise and got the upper hand," Bulkhead growled. Ratchet listened while he patched up Optimus and then moved to the other bots and did the same.

Smokescreen and Bumblebee then pulled into the base and transformed.

"What happened?" Smokescreen asked, concern audible in his voice.

Bulkhead then told the story once more. By time he finished, Ratchet was done patching everyone up to the best he could.

"Now that all of you bots are here and we seem to be telling each other of our findings," Agent Fowler started. He then launched back into what he hadn't found regarding the ruins in Egypt.

Optimus thought for a moment. "I think someone is trying to stop us from getting the information we need. Whether they are looking for it or not, they are trying to make sure that no knows about it."

"Who? The cons?" Arcee asked.

"I do not know, but it does not matter who it is. We need to get the information first, and try to get ahead of them."

"I'll continue looking," Agent Fowler said before turning to the elevator and going back up to his helicopter.

"Let's hope we can get ahead of them," I said. Raf opened up his laptop again and we continued searching for anything regarding the amulet.
