"Watch your step, Nya," Cole warned with a smile, seeing past Red and looking down at Nya. "We don't know the last time this ladder was used."

Nya blushed, unable to hold back her own grin. "That's thoughtful of you, Cole."

Jay made a bunch of strange noises, glaring at the earth ninja. "Ahem! How about you watch where you're watching, Cole..."

A piece of the ladder then broke off at her feet, leaving Nya dangling. "Uh, guys? A little help?"

Neither of them heard and started arguing.

"Oh, is that a threat, Jay? 'Cuz coming from you, it sounds like some of your best material!"

"Haha, there's a reason nobody liked you!"

Red sighed. "They're hopeless..." He then bent down, extending his hand. "Here, Nya."

She sighed in relief, taking it and allowing him to pull her up. What surprised her was when he brought her into his arms while jumping down, landing on his feet.

"Oh!" Nya smiled, putting a hand on his chest. "My knight in shining armor."

"At your service," Red joked with a grin, putting her down.

Cole and Jay jumped down, both glaring at Red. "What?"

"Relax, Nya is all yours," Red assured them, but he couldn't help but grin wider. "Well, one of yours, at least."

Kai slapped his head. "Red, did you have to go and say that? We'll never hear the end of it!"

     Nya only rolled her eyes.

"It was his fault!" Jay and Cole pointed at each other.

"Let's keep our eyes peeled," Zane spoke, stopping the conversation completely. "Our mystery suspect could be anywhere down here."

The group started walking with lights in their hands. They trudged through the lit hall.

"Serpentine. Never thought I'd see them again," Kai said.

After some more walking, about fifteen minutes, the team stopped in front of a door.

"The tomb of the Stone Army," Kai spoke. "It's been sealed since the Serpentine were trapped here."

Zane put his hand on the crack. "It appears the seal has been opened."

They heard whistling behind them, seeing a familiar snake slithering toward them. "Gah, not you again!"

"Skales. Something told me you'd be behind this. Search his bag!" Cole ordered.

"This is harasssssment! I've done nothing wrong," Skales defended with a hiss.

"Except steal the hard drive! Where is it? What are you hiding?" Jay questioned.

"He's hiding...!" Kai threw everything out of the bag, surprised at what he found. "Groceries...? And the latest issue of Ninjago Times..."

"What can I ssssay? I'm a sssucker for the crossword." Skales took the newspaper back. "Sssorry, you've got the wrong ssnake."

"Daddy?" a voice called from inside, causing the group to turn around. "Are you okay?"

A pink snake held the smaller one. "Stay inside, Skales Junior."
