A/N: Quick warning/notice: One, this will be angsty, and two, I actually had to do research for this to make sure it was plausible. Thankfully, it was, so this now exists. Enjoy the temporary pain!
Also, huge thanks to Scarlett_Santiago348 for helping me type the draft out. Gee Manetti, my hands got tired really fast.

It all happened too fast.
They were on the payload. Reinhardt had to drop his shield for a second. The bullet went flying, and it hit its mark. Hanzo let out a cry of pain, watching the blood drip from his shoulder. He clutched it tightly, still trying to fight back. He attempts were futile, and he fell to his knees on top of the vehicle.
McCree was near the back of the payload, fending off possible ambushers. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Hanzo collapse and panicked. He shot at two approaching enemies before running to the payload. He jumped on top of it and crouched down next to his injured lover. He saw the blood pouring out and cursed under his breath. "Shit, Han. We need to move you to a safer location."
He saw someone trying to jump down on them and fired at them. "Cover me!" he hollered to no one in particular as he picked up the ravenet and slid off the car. Carefully, he pulled the side door open and laid the other down in the backseat. His brown eyes were glazed with pain and were started to flutter shut.
"Stay with me, darlin'," he growled, the words coming out a little harsher than he intended them to. Quickly, he slammed the door shut and spun around, shooting rounds at anyone he saw. "Motherfuckers think they can get away with shooting my Hanzo?" he thought, swinging himself back onto the roof of the payload. A deadly grin made its way onto his face as he cocked the gun. "I don't think so."
Meanwhile, Hanzo was inside, groaning in pain. He pulled his hand away for a moment, seeing it was soaked in his own blood. Muttering incoherent swears under his breath, he looked around for something to help clot it.
The team continued to fiercely guard the vehicle, especially now that there was an injured passenger inside. Jesse was still on the roof, firing round after round at any enemy he saw. All he could think about was the Asian inside, possibly bleeding to death.
"We just have to finish escorting the payload, and the Angela can patch him up," he thought, ducking behind a shield. He quickly reloaded and saw four attackers coming straight for them. A deadly look flashed in his eye and he prepared to fire. Under his breath, he muttered "It's high noon." The bullets went flying, hitting all four of them straight in the head.
The car was almost at its destination, and it was at the moment that Mercy appeared, flying down from somewhere. "I was told zhere vas an emergency. Vhat's the problem?"
"Hanzo was shot," the southerner said, shooting an enemy over her shoulder. "Looks pretty bad. Got hit right in the shoulder."
Her eyes widened in surprise. "Oh dear. It could've hit an artery." She quickly pulled out a pistol and fired over the payload. It hit a sniper on a nearby roof as she moved to peer through the window. "It does look pretty bad. He needs medical attention as soon as possible."
Fear flashed in McCree's eyes. "Shit doc, is it that bad?" He heard a bullet sing past his ear and turned to retaliate. The healer tried to answer him, but a series of gunshots interrupted her.
Finally, a few minutes later, the payload made it to its destination and the gunfire ceased. Angela threw open the side door and gasped. "I zhink he's losing consciousness!" She attempted to pull the archer out of the backseat. Jesse went to help her, but was suddenly swarmed by other doctors. In his moments of panic, he failed to realize a medical helicopter had arrived. Hanzo was quickly moved onto a stretcher, and the carried to the chopper.
The cowboy struggled to keep up with them, mumbling things like "Stay with me, darlin'," and "You're safe now, don't worry." Eventually, it came to the point where they were about to board it, and Mercy stopped him.
"Let me through, doc. That's my Hanzo you're takin'."
She sighed, stepping into the helicopter. "I'm sorry, Jesse. But he's going to have to go into surgery immediately. "
His eyes widened in shock "Surgery? Wh-"
"The bullet hit his subclavian artery," she spoke rapidly "If he doesn't go into primary repair soon, he probably vill die."
The words hit him like a slap in the face. He took a step back, shocked. At that moment, the door of the copter shut and it started to lift off the ground. McCree watched as it did so, still shaken up about the situation. "It hit an artery... No wonder there was so much blood... "
He stumbled back again, running into someone. He spun around seeing it was Zenyatta. The omnic's head was tilted towards the vehicle, watching it fly off into the distance. "Don't worry, my friend. Your lover will be fine."
"How do ya know that?" he growled, tugging at his serape. He watched the robot's head tilt back down, looking towards him.
"I gave him a healing orb," he answered calmly, his remaining orbs circling around him. "Plus, he has Doctor Ziegler with him. She had never failed us before."
He opened his mouth to object, but decided it wasn't worth the fight. He let out a sigh and stared at the sky. "I hope yer right..."

Twelve hours had passed. The rest of the team had called it a night, but Jesse just couldn't. He was too worried to sleep, nor could he brings himself to just abandon his injuried partner. He was pacing outside of the room, waiting oh-so-patiently for the news.
It was around four a.m when Angela finally stepped out if the room. She looked exhausted, and was still dressed in her uniform. When the brunet saw her, he spun on his heels and bounded over to her.
"How his he? Did he make it? Or worse?" His brown eyes were dull of concern.
Mercy let out a tired sigh. "You're a lucky man, McCree. Yes, he made it." She saw him open his mouth to speak and held up a hand. "You can see him, but just know that he's very weak. He lost a lot of blood, and he's lucky we had his blood type in storage."
He nodded quickly, looking like a child who thought they'd lost their favorite toy. He thanked her and walked inside, eager to see him.
The moment he walked in the room, Hanzo's head snapped towards him. They locked eyes for a moment and all the emotions that had been kept down for the last twelve hours threatened to spill out of them.
Instead, Jesse just ran forward and wrapped his arms around the Asian in a tight embrace. The Shimada used his good arm and wrapped it around the other's neck. They stayed like that for a bit, taking everything in. Finally, the southerner pulled away for a moment and mumbled, "Don't you ever scare me like that again."
The ravenet laughed and rested their foreheads together. "I'll try not to, honey..."
