"Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt dance like nobody's watching." - Satchel Paige

Alexander POV

A month later

I haven't talked to Elbertin. I mean I have talked to her, but not in a full conversation. It would only be a few sentences when she would drop off the twins. When she dropped off the twins she would only talk about the list of things I have to do for the few days they stay with me each week.

Elbertina was supposed to drop off the twins two hours ago. I looked at my phone to see if I got a message from Elbertina or anything, but no she didn't call or text me.

I was talking to Liam about Elbertina and what happened that day. I didn't tell him when it happened, because I had to think things over.

"She slapped you." Liam said very shocked. It's not that shocking really that she would slap me. Also the slap she gave hurt so much and it left a red mark that lasted a two days.

"Yeah, she did." I said after sipping my freshly brewed coffee.

"I've never seen you like this and I'm saying that as a friend who I think of a brother. You don't even ask a girl out. That should really show something to her. You are often this guy who doesn't ask woman, woman ask you."

What Liam was saying wasn't fully true. There was once that I asked a girl out before. That didn't turn out pretty well. She said yes, but she completely used me to get her ex to notice her again. She used me because she knew I was the guy with the most money in the entire school. That was how she got the attention from her ex. That was why I dumped her and changed my appearance and my attitude.

That was why I never asked out a girl. Mainly because I never had feelings for the girls I was with. They mainly came to me asking for some few things.  Elbertina is actually the only other person I asked out.

"Why do you even love her?"

That question was always in my head. It was mainly because if I changed how I looked at her, I could probably stop loving her. "I love her because she isn't like most people. She often sees me differently. There is also how her eyes glow when she's happy, the way her eyes would be very tensed and you couldn't understand what she was thinking was when she was focused on something. How she laughs is like having joy in my life. . .

I stopped talking when I heard my front door open. "Daddy!" Vera yelled at me and ran up to me. I picked her up in my arms when she was close enough for me to. She gave me the biggest smile I've seen her give me and she gave me kiss on left cheek and right cheek.

I later on saw Elbertina walk in with Adriano holding her hand. She than crouched down to whisper something in his ears. He nodded his head and walked to me. "Mommy needs to talk to you." Why didn't she say that to me?

I let down Vera on the ground so she and her brother could to go their rooms. I saw the of both them run in the hallway to their rooms. They were so adorable. I then faced Elbertina to see what she needed to talk to me about. "Can we be alone?" I turned around to look at Liam, who was already getting up and walking up the stairs and he gave an encouraging thumbs up.

"I know that we should talk about what happened, but I don't want to. And that isn't what I want to talk to you about. I wanted to ask if you would like to go to a wedding with the twins and me. It's for my cousins wedding in Spain. The twins mainly Adriano wanted you to come with us." She handed me a wedding invitation box. "You don't have to come with us, if you don't want to."

I was really confused on the entire conversation. I thought it would be time for us to talk about what happened at the restaurant. It also didn't make any since on why she would even agree on me going with them.

"I'll think about it, if that's okay with you."

She nodded her head "Okay, umm. . . I should get going then. I-i'll see you when I pick up the twins, okay." I heard her stutter a bit and it was a little bit cute. It was also kind of something that she rarely did.

She then turned around to leave my place, but I wasn't ready for her to leave yet. So I grabbed her by her wrist. Her head turned around to face me. I walked to her a bit closer so I could see her eyes better. Her eyes are always one the best most beautiful things about her.

Her skin felt smooth like velvet. I could feel a tingling sensation. It felt nice it kind of made me want to keep my hold on her. I could smell her scent. Her scent was more intoxicated than drinking some alcohol.

I think that I was staring to much into her eyes, because she coughed a bit to get my attention. "C-Can we talk about what happened at the restaurant last month."

Elbertina was turning a bit red, which was something I never saw from her. It was truly new to see her blushing a bit. "I-i-i-i need to get going. W-we can talk about it l-later." She pulled her arm away and walking out my place without another word.

I really wanted to talk to her about everything. I wanted to tell her that what I did I don't regret any of it. I don't regret breaking off my engagement, kissing her, or even telling her I love her.

I looked at the wedding invitation box. It had a golden ribbon with this pearl and diamond pendant on the middle. The entire invitation had gold details that you could tell that the bride and groom thought about every single detail on the invitation.

I read the invitation and I found out that the brides name is Ana Paula Hazeldine Castillo and the groom is Miguel Angel Garza Romerro. Also that the wedding is in Granada, Spain.
