→Elaina
When she knocked on the door to Ashton and Luke's shared apartment, an unfamiliar voice shouted, "It's open!" She took the liberty of walking through the door and to the couch to place her clothes before venturing to the kitchen.
Sure enough, the tall guy with great hair that walked through the lobby was Luke, and "hotter up close" couldn't begin to describe Luke.
But somehow, even with amazingly attractive Luke two feet from her, Elaina could only look at Ashton.
"Elaina, this is Luke. Luke, this is Elaina," Ashton introduces. Luke stuck out his hand for her to shake and smirked, revealing a set of dimples not quite as deep as Ashton's.
"Wow, he must really like you; he's bringing you home on the first date." Luke had a gruff voice, deeper than Ashton's. And Elaina wondered why she kept comparing everything Luke did to Ashton.
Elaina blushed a deep red and looked at her feet, suddenly becoming interesting in the the lenolium below her. "Actually, I'm just a family friend passing through. I should be leaving tomorrow." she lies easily, something she had become accustomed to while living in Canada. Ashton shot her a confused look, but before Luke could notice, it faded into a knowing look, a maybe a look of sadness? But Elaina didn't need to think about that. He was probably constipated; no one would ever be sad to get rid of her.
"Oh, well sorry for embarrassing you, and Ashton. Did you see how red his face got?" Luke teased further. Ashton playfully socked him in the shoulder and turned around to preheat the oven.
"Since Luke is shit at shopping, we will be having frozen pizza for dinner; pepperoni and supreme because I wasn't for sure what you would prefer." Ashton explained, pulling a few circular objects out of a sack and peeling the cellophane away.
"That's fine, I only like pepperoni anyway." she sounded shy and put-off, but only Ashton seemed to notice.
"While the pizza's cooking I'm gonna take a shower. Ashton, don't do anything I wouldn't do." Luke winked and left the room. The water began running almost immediately but they were both too embarrassed to even begin to say anything.
Ashton eventually cleared his throat and scratched the back of his neck. "Sorry...about Luke. Could you believe he's two-and-a-half years younger than me?"
Elaina honestly couldn't believe this, and she laughed a little at the thought.
"Um, are you really gonna leave tomorrow? I mean, like, Sydney?" Ashton suddenly asked. Elaina had been trying to avoid this topic even though she didn't do a very good job of keeping conversation.
"I don't know. I didn't come here to get attatched. It might be better if I leave."
As much as she didn't want to admit it, she was feeling more and more attatched to Ashton every time she saw his dimples, every time he tied his curly, unruly hair back with a bandana, every time she stared into those gorgeous hazel eyes...she felt as if she were falling too deep, too fast.
"Don't leave."
Elaina could tell that he hadn't meant to say that out loud by the look on his face. It made her feel something on the inside that she had never felt before. Fireworks exploded in her stomach and she desired nothing more than the feeling of Ashton's lips on her own. She shook this thought from her head.
"Ashton, I don't have anywhere to stay, I have barely have enough money to survive on for three months in the cheapest hotel room they have, I can't even find a job, Jesus Christ!" she put her face in her hands. The tears that threatened to spill stayed at bay; she had cried to much in the last year to even think about pouring her emotion to an accquaintace.
She felt a pair of strong arms drape around her frame and the sent of cologne engulfed her. Peeling her hands from her eyes, she wrapped her arms around Ashton's neck and nuzzled into him, breathing him in. Hugging him was better than she had ever imagined.
"I can help you with a job. You can stay here for as long as you want to. Luke won't care, his old girlfriend used to stay here for weeks at a time. I've lived in Sydney my whole life, I can help you with a lot of things." Ashton said sheepishly as he pulled away from the hug. Elaina sighed in defeat.
"Ok, fine. I'll stay."
