The following morning its Sam's first day back out in action, she had missed the front line action so much although she is nervous to how she will get on through the day without and crutches and being on her feet a lot.

On the other hand, Iain is overly excited to have Sam back working alongside him especially now he's got a new found happiness in Sam.

Sam and Iain are currently driving to work and although Iain is excited for her return, Sam is apprehensive about the day and what it may throw at her. "I'm sure you're going to just slip back into a routine" Iain speaks up as he turns the radio down.

"Iain... I'm not going back to school. It's work, I'll be fine, I'm a big girl" Sam says sarcastically.

Iain just nods and hums along to the radio. They soon arrive at the ambulance station, "Well let's see what today holds! Nobody dies?" Iain smiles.

"Nobody dies" Sam replies as she shakes Iain's hand to seal the deal.

"Game on!" Iain adds and they both get out the car, grab their belongings and head to the ambulance station.

When they get into the Paramedics staffroom, Sam is greeted by a few members of staff who has had worked with in the past. Apart from the usual faces, Iain introduces her to Ruby, the newly qualified Paramedic who had taken Sam's job for a while.

Sam is taken back slightly by all the warm welcome backs she has received, suddenly she felt like a real-valued member on the time and that she really belonged here with them. Once everyone has finished speaking to her, she heads back to the locker room and grabs her uniform and gets changed.

As she puts her belt on and attaches her radio Iain walks in and smiles at her, "Now that's a sight I've missed... you in full uniform" He smiles and walks over to Sam, he pulls her into a hug.

They both stand there for a while embracing each other, "You'll have to get used to this site again, I'm not leaving!" She smiles happily.

"Oh god... I'm stuck with you now" He teases.

"Don't worry Iain, I shall grow on you again" Sam laughs.

"Yeah like fungi" Iain replies as he falls into hysterics and Sam rolls her eyes at his comment.

Sam leans in to kiss him as Jan walks in and looks at the two, "Jesus Christ... I didn't realize how much you two have missed each other. But come on no need to kiss him Sam" She chuckles as she watches the two start to blush.

"Oh...erm, yeah... err" Iain stutters as he tries to explain why himself and Sam where inches away from each other's lips.

Jan laughs and rolls her eyes, "Come on Iain, you really think I was born yesterday?" Jan smirks and Iain just stands there trying to think of a reply. "Is it official?" She questions in her deep Welsh accent which makes the two stutter and stammer to get their words out.

"Yes, you may as well say that" Sam replies seeing to have the most confidence.

Jan smiles and shakes her head, "I was rooting for you two" She laughs.

Iain and Sam, exchange looks before setting their eyes back to Jan, "What?" Iain says in an almost awkward chuckle.

"You really think it hadn't gone unnoticed Iain? You spent so much time with Sam when she was in ICU. Then you would always be talking about her in the ambo... oh not forgetting last week when you came in with lipstick stains around your lips" Jan admits.

Sam looks at Iain and smiles "You really don't stop talking about me do you?"

"Well, I'm just happy you two are happy but don't get letting your personal and professional lives clash... that's the last thing I need, some big bust-up in the ambulance station" Jan replies, Sam and Iain both nod in agreement.

Sam walks out and begins to collect her cleaning equipment to clean the ambulance, "Now that's a sight I like to see" Iain smirks as he watches her mop down the ambulance.

"You like a lot of sights don't you?" Sam replies as she turns around to face him and continues to mop.

"Naa Sam, turn around I had a better sight down here then" He laughs cheerfully.

Sam rolls her eyes and huffs "If you're not careful this mop... you see it yeah? It will end up somewhere... where the sun doesn't shine" She threatens with a blank expression on her face.

Iain laughs but before he can reply his radio springs into life, "control to 3006, multiple car RTC, Meadow Bank Way on the junction of Daisy Bridge Road, casualties' unknown, Police present on the scene" the radio speaks.

They both look at each other and Sam takes her mop and bucket out the ambulance, "3006, received and on our way" Iain replies as they both close the doors and jump in the front of the ambulance.
