The click of shoes echo down the musty corridor in the dungeon. The shadow of the man crept along the wall, nearing Tabitha and Ann.
"What brings you here?" The voice questioned. The only visible part of this figure was the dark cloak he was wearing.
"We-" Ann starts, but Tabitha presses her finger against her lips and shakes her head.
Tabitha looks up at the towering creature and says, "We were simply wandering the forest. Now I'd appreciate it quite much if you'd let us free."
The man chuckled darkly. "You think it's that easy? Well, let me remind you who's in charge here," and with those words said, he somehow managed to pick Tabitha up without touching her, and held her over a ledge which dropped to endless depths.
"LET HER GO!" Ann demanded, running towards him. He grinned and looked through her eyes, "As you wish."
Tabitha looked at the man grimly, right before he dropped her into the pitch black abyss. "TABITHA!" Ann screamed and ran after her, but it was too late. Even if Ann could reach her, it would be too dark for them to find a way out. She spun around to stare at the man who was now holding a scythe.
Ann didn't know what to think anymore. Or even how to think at that. He dived into the pit and flung out his scythe. The blade flew off then retracted, now pierced through a pair of fairy wings. He crawled freakishly out of the pit and smiled at Ann.
She gasped.
"Don't worry," he sneered. "You can't fall to your death if there's no bottom."
