A few hours later, around noon, Charlie came up to a small brook. It was perfectly clear, just like the Golden Creek. It just didn't have gold. He cupped his hands together and drank some water. Next, he walked over to a tall oak tree and sat in the shade that it provided.
"Excuse me!" Shouted a small voice. "Huh?" Charlie looked around and couldn't find anything. He scooted over and saw that he was sitting at the doorway of a small creature's house. It was built into the tree.
"Watch where you're going!" Shouted the voice. Charlie looked around and finally found a small pixie, sitting on a leaf, threatening him with her wand. "That's my house right there mister!!" She remarked. "Oh..I'm sorry...m-ma'am," he apologized. He just stayed there, looking at her. Is this real..? He wondered.
"Erm..Who are you..?" Charlie asked, twiddling his thumbs. "Well! I'm Tabitha. And now I expect for you to tell me your name, young man," she replies, twirling her hair while looking at him. "Oh! Well, my name is Charlie, Miss," he responds. "Nice to meetcha, Charlie! Just promise me you won't sit on my house, got it? My husband would be devastated after all of that work he put into it. Especially the kids..." She trailed off with her words, and he took the opportunity to slip away. "I sure will! Errrrr... WON'T! wait.. I won't will do it!" He called as he ran off. He ran off to one of the first valleys he had seen, and tried looking for more creatures.
