* TOMS POV**
I crawled farther under the bed to avoid being seen. I heard two sets of footsteps entering the room. "I'll tuck you in." I heard a males voice say.
Jealousy ran through my body. My fists clenched together and my nails started ripping through my flesh. I started to crawl from underneath the bed, but I stopped my actions.
"Good night, beautiful," I heard the mans voice say. I heard the sound of lips smacking together, they must have kissed. How could Kayla do this to me? We were meant to be together...forever.
I heard the man walk back downstairs. He had to get out of the picture, he didn't belong anywhere near Kayla. It was only supposed to be me and Kayla.
I glanced down at my watch. The green light blinded me for a couple of seconds. It was extremely bright compared to my pitch black surroundings.
It was only 9:15. I figured Kayla wasn't deep in sleep just yet, so I waited.
The sound of the clock ticking rang through my eardrums. *tick-tock, tick-tock* The only sound was coming from the clock on the wall and the occasional soft snoring of Kayla.
***JAKES POV***
I glanced back at Kayla before I retreated back downstairs. She was already asleep. I guess are fun day at the playground wore her out. A smile was plastered on her pretty face.
That was my goal for today. To get her mind off of all the bad things that have happened, and instead focus on the positive things in life.
I grinned my boyish grin as I leapt onto the brown leather couch, and pulled the polka-dotted cover all the way up to my chin.
I had always had a tiny crush on Kayla since we were little kids. Now I was starting to fall for her more each and every day. I just hoped that she was feeling the same way about me.
Different thoughts of me and Kayla were flooding through my mind. I fell asleep with a smile plastered on my face, just like the girl I loved, Kayla.
****TOMS POV****
Two long hours have gone by. I was absolutely sure Kayla was fast asleep now. Her snores have become more often and much louder as well.
I started to inch my body from beneath the bed. When I was almost out, my foot knocked over a shoe box. The noise sounded extremely loud compared to the silence that was now engulfed inside the room.
"Who's there?" Kayla questioned. I could sense the sound of fear in her shrill voice. She started to get up, but then she suddenly stopped.
"Come here Bella," she whispered. I was guessing that was the name of the puppy I left earlier as a special gift just for her.
"Come here girl," she croaked, calling for the dog a second time. I froze in my place as her bare hand reached under the bed. She began to snap her fingers, and continue to call for the pup again.
I stretched my neck and poked my tongue through my lips. I licked her soft hand. It tasted sweet, almost like cotton candy. She pulled her hand back up, thankfully she thought I was the dog. That was too close of a call.
I needed to wait atleast a few more nights for finally taking Kayla so we can live happily ever after. I peeked from the bed. Kayla was already passed out. I kissed my pointer finger and brushed it lightly against her soft pink lips. She didn't budge.
I crept slowly down the stairs, being careful not to awaken the man sleeping on the couch. I automatically hated everything about him. I glared at him as a frown spread across my face.
Why did she like him? I'm just as attractive as him. I started to reach for the knife in my jean jacket, but stopped my impulse decision before I screwed up. He would get his turn, eventually.
I started to make my way to the back door, where I had came in the first time. I glanced down at the puppy laying in the grey tiled bathroom floor. An evil thought flashed in my head.
I couldn't just leave this place without doing some kind of dirty work. After doing my "dirty work" I left the house, and walked into the cold foggy outdoors.
