I skidded to a stop. We had finally reached our first destination. And I was out of breath. Khann moved toward the door and took out a key card. "Where did you get that?" I inquired.
"On my last mission I stole it from a First Order general." Khann smiled mischievously. "One of my greatest accomplishments." I nodded as he swiped the keycard. I held my breath as the door opened. Two storm troopers looked up.
"Hey this is a restricted-" The voice was cut off by a bang. Both fell dead. I moved inside, stepping over the bodies. First things first...interfere with the transmissions. The room was a lot bigger than I thought it would be. The walls moved upwards, towering above our heads. A control panel lay on the far right side of the room. I would start there. I sighed a long deep sigh if relief. I turned to Khann.
"Done." I said trying to contain my excitement.
"Good." He told me. Then he moved his hand up to his ear peice. "Commander, transmissions are blocked. Repeat transmissions are blocked." Excitement and pride flowed through my veins. My first mission...a success. All previous fear vanished.
"Khann. Contact Piper. Ask if she has disabled the hyper space fuel." I ordered. Khann nodded.
"Piper. Come in." Silence. "Piper, come in." More empty words.
"We don't have time for this." I exclaimed. "We need to find them." I started for the door. I heard Khann's footsteps behind me. I opened the door and raced down the hallway, gun in hand. A comfort fell over me. I finally knew who I was. I was a Rebel. And this was what I was meant to do. I looked back at Khann. I smiled. And he was who I was meant to be with.~
