____
CHAPTER ONE: HEARTLESS.
____Today's climate had been scorching. A slight breeze had blown, but was deemed quite useless since the heat was still dominant. Not a single part of your body had felt fresh, just the feeling of sweat dripping down your cheeks.
Yet, you had to keep walking.
What a mistake it was to walk all the way to your job. This is the last time you'll decide to be more active and walk to your workplace, refusing to get a ride from a taxi cab or even drive yourself to your destination.
At least the sweat and you walking will help you in one thing, losing weight. Recently, a few of your friends, including your boyfriend had mentioned how you had seemed to be chubbier than usual. They had even given you lists of how to lose the little amount of weight you had gained.
'You're a cosmetologist, you out of all people shouldn't look like this!'
Their words kept ringing through your ears, and you begged them to stop. Some of the things they had said actually hit a nerve within you, but since the day you were born you have had trouble being rude to people, causing you to say nothing at the comments they were making.
Just the thought of their words that had been aimed towards you were enough to have tears at the brim of your eyes. You tried your best to hold them back, making sure you don't mess up your makeup so you don't clock in with your face all ruined.
Not like it wasn't already.
Unluckily, one tear had managed to become astray and had cascaded down your cheeks. As you kept walking, you noticed how pedestrians would pass by and steal a glance at you, noticing the tears running.
But, you kept walking.
The hot weather had actually done you a favor and dried up your tears, luckily none of your makeup had smudged. As you kept walking, the more tiring your uniform's heels had become, your feet were practically begging for freedom.
You had to keep walking.
You began to take a look around at your surroundings, noticing that you had arrived around the area where the wealthy people would live. And due to that, a lot of homeless people were wandering around the area as well, hoping for someone to help them out.
You pitied them. You could never imagine what struggles and dangerous situations they go through, it's terrible. The days they go without eating, sleeping, and how little money they are gifted with.
