CHAPTER THREE: YOUR HAND
____
Joshua led you inside the quaint restaurant, the smell of all types of breakfast foods filling your nose.
You were mentally begging for everything to just fly in your mouth.
Joshua walked you over to a table, where you guys sat across from each other. As you waited, a waitress brought over a menu that was literally a ginormous menu.
"What item is the lowest in calories?"
Once those words dropped from your lips, Joshua gave you a disappointed look. "You did not just say that.."
A pink coated your cheeks due to the embarrassment being a little too much.
"(Y/n), you don't need to lose weight. You're perfectly beautiful and healthy. Don't let such toxic thoughts devour your mind." He spoke in a serious tone, but once again made you smile. It made you wonder, how would it be like if your friends were here too?
"And just because you asked that, I'm going to order the food for you. And I'm going to make sure you eat it all. I don't know if someone told you to lose weight or it was a self-made goal, but it's gotta stop and it's stopping now."
You felt your heart flutter at his kind words, hearing someone praise you instead of degrading you felt nice. It had a warm feeling, and it saddened you knowing that after this, the two of you will go back to being strangers.
Little did you know, he felt the same.
"Listen. I know it can be annoying to have someone nagging you over and over again- over something that you had chosen to do. But I keep looking at you and I don't see what the need to lose weight is. You look fine." He reassured you with his gentle voice.
"How did you know I wanted to lose weight? What if I asked just because I wanted to make sure I didn't gain any?"
"Because (Y/n), why else would you be walking to work instead of driving or taking a cab, in heels?" He began outsmarting you, causing your heart rate to increase. "You weren't late over just a few minutes. Meaning, that you had it all planned out."
"But honestly, don't you think I need to? I'm a cosmetologist, I work in the beauty industry for pete's sake! I shouldn't be weighing as much as I currently am. It's embarrassing." You complained to him, sorta giving away the reason behind your actions.
