CHAPTER SIXTEEN: UNKNOWN

"I think you should know who we are by now."
The man spoke with a deep voice, but his words confused you. You had never met him nor have ever seemed to have a single exchange with him. Knowing this set off an alarm inside your brain. Whether it had to do with you or Joshua, these people were most likely up to no good and it was up to you to find a way to get rid of them as fast as possible.
You tilted your head, hand still on the doorknob, closing the door to make the crack of the door smaller. "Uhm.. I'm sorry sir, I don't think I know you? Perhaps you had gotten the wrong house?"
"Ms. Kwon, we're pretty sure that this is your house. We are not in the wrong, now we need to get down to business." They leaned forwards as if they were about to step foot into your home. Luckily, thanks to quick instincts, you closed the door a bit more to the point where only you can be seen to the people.
"Sir, I do not know who you are, therefore, you do not have permission to enter my home. So please, step aside from the door, before I call the officials." You threw them a bittersweet smile, stepping closer to them, making them take a step back.
The woman who was in the back stepped forward, pushing her accomplices aside and looked you straight in the eye. She had a smug look on her face, as if she had the idea that she can force you to let them in. You knew that she was cocky just from the way she glared at you, and even then, despite all the dirty looks they gave you, you weren't letting them in. And to make sure you can successfully lock them out, you used the hand that had been resting on the doorknob to sneakily pre-lock the door before.
The woman crossed her arms, smirking as she made the eye contact, moving her jaw as if she had been chewing some chewing gum. "Listen up, princess, whether you want it or not. Now let us in before we have to apply any force." She gave you a cocky smirk.
"No." You held your chin up, your confidence rising more than ever. "I have the right to not let you in unless you tell me why you're here and who the hell you all are. Because you claim to know me when I clearly do not recognize none of you, and if you do not answer any of my questions, I will call officials."
The woman rolls her eyes, every single one of her actions and gestures seem to piss you off even more.
"We're here to talk about the Joshua Hong Disappearance case." They finally gave in into your requests. "We've heard from witnesses that you seem to have been seen around with him. And we don't know if you've seen the news as of right now, but that explains your involvement with this case."
