CHAPTER TWELVE: HAIR DYE
____
That was close..
A little too close.
They knew he was here in the city, and now they were on the lookout. Which was far from good. Posters were even placed around and apparently it was announced in news network. Joshua was screwed at this point, and there was no telling how long he had until he was found and mostly likely taken back to the hell hole of a home.
The women saw him again, by just a little and he would've been caught. Luckily, he managed to hide himself in a Mcdonald's bathroom nearby.
Joshua walked back home once the coast was clear, this time hiding himself a bit more. Thank heavens that you had given him a spare key so getting in the house was no problem.
"Joshua! You're home early." You poked your head out from the kitchen.
"Yeah, um.. we may have a problem." Joshua announced out of breath, loosening a tad bit of his tie. "They're on my trail, and my face may or may not be plastered on posters and tv."
"Oh damn.." (Y/n) furrowed her brows.
"Lucky for you, Jisoo, I know exactly what can help. All I need is your permission and just a walk to the convenience store down the street." You offered the man, who though you didn't want to admit, looked attractive.
Joshua chuckled at the fact that you called him by his korean name, something he wasn't used to hearing from you, but still seemed normal.
"Let me guess.. are you going to dye my hair then?" Joshua smirked, leaning on the wall behind him.
"Yep, you guessed it." (Y/n) chirped. "So what do you think? And if you want I'll do it, and though you might not believe it, I actually have experience."
"Is that even a question? Of course you have my permission. You're the only one who I could trust right now, and if this means it'll help me get away from my family, then go ahead." Joshua walked over a little closer to you.
"Do you wanna join me at the store? I have a mask you could use, or you could stay here at home and just do your regular Joshua Hong antics." You asked him, beginning to gather your bag and wallet, handing him a mask.
"Once again, is that even a question? You already know that of course I would. Especially since I want to know what color you're thinking here." He smirked, taking you by the hand and led the two of you outside.
"What about grapefruit pink?" You began thinking of ideas for Joshua's new hair color.
"Would that even work for me? I've never seen myself in pink hair." Joshua chuckled, swinging your hands as the two of you walked towards the store.
"I think you'll look great in pink." You ruffled his hair with your free hand. "Or a different shade of brown? Right now it's like a dark brown, so how what if we lighten up it's color a little bit?" You studied his hair a little bit more.
"What do you think I should get? Like your actual opinion, what would you really like to see me in?" Joshua smirked at you, intertwining your fingers.
You returned his smirk, "Pink!"
"Now put on your mask, okay? I don't want you to actually go back to your family." You gave him a small order, which he followed, making your worried decrease by just a little bit.
"Awww! That means you care about me then!" Joshua cooed as he began teasing you by pinching your cheeks.
"Of course I do." You removed his hand from your cheek. "It's not like you left just to rebel, but because you weren't treated fairly and weren't happy. So, of course I wouldn't just leave you alone like this, you deserve happiness Josh."
"Hey (Y/n)?" Joshua softly called. You replied with a hum and turned to him. "Nevermind, it doesn't matter anymore." With that he broke off the hold between you two, and instead put his arm around your shoulder, pulling you a little bit closer to him.
The little bell rang once you guys entered the store, and without wasting any time the two of you dashed to the area where they had their hair dye and hair treatments. "So what color?" You asked and instead of being given an answer Joshua picks up a box of hair dye that would give him the color pink.
"Since you insisted, I figured it'll look good, plus if it doesn't in the end, at least you have something to tease me about." He shrugged and smirked, throwing the box and catching it.
You stayed silent for a bit as you thought if there could be anything else that you could use to help hide Joshua's identity. "Earth to (Y/n)!"
She was snapped out of her thoughts and was faced with a Joshua who was wearing a monkey mask with sunglasses. "I look baller don't I?" He began making strange poses, which you'll admit made you laugh hard.
"Take that off, and let's go pay." You gave him a soft smack on the arm walking ahead towards the cashier, who was attending another customer at the moment. The line was quite short, it was just a woman, two teenage boys, and Joshua and you lined up, and luckily they didn't have a lot of things.
"Hey (Y/n)?" He called your name, and suddenly you felt arms over your waist buried in your neck. You were taken by surprise, but it didn't take long before you looked around and saw those two same women from the alley in the store. They were getting closer and closer to catching Joshua, and your heart rate continued increasing.
You didn't want to lose him.
