CHAPTER THIRTEEN:
SAFE

"Here, you go and hide out in the aisles, I'll quickly pay for this. Just do not let them see you." You whispered to him, keeping an eye on the women.

"Where should I hide out?" Joshua panicked.

"Head to the farther aisles, just follow my lead." You removed his arms from your body, and cleared your throat. "Jaehyung, can you get the diapers? I accidentally forgot them over by the books."

Joshua was taken off guard for a second, but quickly caught on onto what you were doing. You were going to have him pretend to head over to the books, but in reality he hides or if possible exits the store unnoticed by his supposed fiance's little friends.

He began walking away, making sure to have his back facing the bothersome women. And from the corner of your eye, just as you expected, a few seconds later they began following Jisoo. And you could just feel your heart rate increase even faster.

You got this Jisoo.

The women nor Joshua were in your field of vision, so who knows in what part of the store they were in. At this point you hoped instead of hiding in some aisle, he managed to leave the store. But, the sound of the little bell hasn't made a single jingle.

It was your turn to pay for the hair dye, the cashier looked up at you and raised an eyebrow. "Is this all?"
You nodded in response and began taking out the estimated amount of money you'll have to pay. "Wasn't your husband heading to grab diapers?"

Your breath hitched. "He'll just come and pay for them on his own. The line is getting bigger, I'll just pay and wait for him to come back." You replied giving her a hopefully not noticeable nervous smile.

"How old's your kid?" The cashier asked, scanning the hair dye. "That'll be 6.37." She added.

"He's 2." You added on to your fib, it felt bad seeing as she was genuinely interested in your life, she must really love kids for her to be so excited.

"Ah so he's still so small. From what I've heard kids around that age are the times where they mostly start crying, but since I don't have one of my own, I will never know." She smiled, and took the money you had given her. "I wish I did." She added.

"Why don't you?" You watched her grab your change, and print out your receipt.

"Well, It's because I can't." And with that sentence it had automatically clicked, and guilt rushed over you. This woman here, who was so fond of children, was incapable of having her own. And here you were, saying that you had a child waiting for you at home.
