CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR:
NEVER GONE
____You began to fill in your dear brother, who although was listening, would get distracted at times at the puppies who approached. Not like you could blame him though, they were adorable. Though he remained respectful and listened despite the distraction that came upon the both of you.
In all honesty, Soonyoung wasn't sure what to expect. Once he heard about the proposal, he thought 'Oh wow! My sister's finally getting married!'. But your eyes and overall look had said otherwise. Which to be honest, took him by surprise.
This whole situation was a shock to him. He had known the fact that Taehyung and you had a thing since your high school days. And although your parents weren't too fond of it, from what it seemed, the two of you were gonna make it until the long run.
Soonyoung felt bad he couldn't do much to help ease your stress and confusion, mainly because of time, but also because even he wasn't sure what to do. He wasn't really experienced with relationships, and he didn't know what's the best step. All he could possibly do at this moment is comfort you as best as he possibly could.
At this point you had already broken down, you felt like an absolute piece of shit. The guilt of hurting someone you deeply cared about overcame you. Your brother wasted no time and hastily rushed to you to hold you. Confusion, anger, guilt, so many emotions were erupting and you still couldn't find the answer to the one question you had.
Why did you do it?
Was it the fear of commitment? Your parents?
"Noona, are you okay?" Soonyoung softly called out to you, letting you cry on his shoulder. He didn't expect an answer, and he wasn't wrong on his expectation. You remained silent, no words came out, just the sound of your cries. As people passed by in the cafe, leaving stares every now and then, Soonyoung would give them a facial indicating that everything was alright and under control.
What was going on in that head of yours?

That was the worst family dinner of his life.
He couldn't handle the tension, the weight of the pressure being put on him, the eyes of those at the table on him, watching his every move.
Can't a guy eat in peace?
Joshua was back and the idea of return was far away. His father was a power and money hungry man, lacking all sorts of empathy, even for his own family.
