A/N: Okay, fam. Here it is. Part 1 of 2 of the last chapter of No Way Out (there will be an Epilogue!)
I'm not ready for this series to end. Harry and Bea are my babies 😭
Okay. Gotta put on my big girl panties now. Anybody have any tissues??
***Bea's POV
The final bell echoes through the crowded hallway and I grab my binder from my locker. I'm relieved I got through the first day of my Senior year and I'm more than ready to get home and start on my homework and put all my assignments on my calendar so I can check them off as each one is due.
I have a feeling this year is going to be the best, hardest one yet, but I love a challenge.
I'm startled by a heavy bump behind me and my binder falls from my grasp, emptying all of my loose-leafed papers onto the floor.
"Oh shit. I'm sorry."
Cringing at his curse word, I turn around and with my jaw slacked, I watch Harry Styles, the school's most popular and attractive guy, poorly attempt to catch the floating papers.
"It's fine," I lie, kneeling down to help pick up my stuff.
"I wasn't watching where I was going," he replies half-heartedly and I just keep picking up my papers. "Oops." His chuckle captures my attention and he holds out a piece of paper. "I kind of scrunched this one."
"It's okay," I brush it off, reminding myself to be nice and we stand back up. "Thanks for your help."
"Don't mention it."
"So," I awkwardly draw out the word, slinging my backpack over my shoulder, "how was your Summer?"
"Good, good," he nods his head several times, clearly thinking this is awkward as well. "Yours?"
"Fine, thanks. Oh! I took a babysitting job and the little girl was so cute-"
"Cool," he cuts me off. "M'kay. Bye."
Oh my God, that day feels like forever ago. I wish I could go back just to have more time. Dammit, don't cry, Bea.
The sound of the van door opening brings me out of my thoughts and I look over to watch Harry get in the driver's seat.
"Your mum said they'd bring the girls home tomorrow around noon. Is that okay with you?" he asks and I nod in acknowledgment. "Good. So, are you ready, Love?"
"You were a jerk to me in high school."
"Excuse me? Uhm, I mean, I know that, and I've apologized-"
"It's fine, Babe," I smile, waving for him to stop. "I was just daydreaming about us before we even became 'us.' I don't know what made me think of it."
"Oh, okay. Are you alright then?" he asks while buckling his seatbelt and I nod. "Okay, so you still haven't told me the two things you want to do to celebrate your last day of chemo, y'know," he smirks while turning on the engine. "You're gonna have to tell me sometime."
"Yeah, but I don't know if you want to do them."
"Love, I'll do anything you want to do as long as you're feeling up to it."
"Okay," I exhale my nerves and smile. "I want to go on the Ferris Wheel with you."
Harry raises his eyebrows like he wasn't expecting that answer and he smiles softly.
"We can do that," he clears his throat, putting the gear shift in Reverse to back out of the parking space. "So that's one thing. What's the other?"
