{.....CHRISTINA'S POV.....}

Sitting here in the canteen, my hands are fidgeting restlessly beside my plate and my knees are bouncing like crazy.

Where in god's name could she have gotten to?

It's now gone 7 'o' clock, breakfast is nearly over and she's nowhere to be seen; I know that because I have asked every single person that has passed me the same question 'have you seen Tris?' The bitch is lucky that Al had the decency to put a plate aside for her as I definitely wouldn't have been so kind. I can't believe that she seems to have just disappeared off the face of the earth and hasn't told me, her supposed best friend, where the hell she's gone. I'm actually starting to get quite worried right now, what if something bad has happened?

I can't drink, I can't eat, I can't even think properly about anything but her and her whereabouts. She's actually seriously taken control of my mind. I swear to god I'm gonna give her a 'what for' when I next see her.

"Calm down babe, she'll turn up soon" Will tried to reassure me, placing his hand on my leg to still my moving knees.

"Yeah, yeah I know" I replied faking a strained smile and leaning into him from the side. Although his calming words had stilled my fidgeting body parts, my mind was still riddled with worry.

In the hope that I could erase some of the more sinister scenarios from running havoc in my fragile head, I began to take in my surroundings.

The dauntless dining hall is a large, bright, open-spaced room in the compound that within itself is neither too small nor too big; it can contain around 200 people without being too enormous or having to cram them all in. The room is not in the pit itself, but instead connected by a large open archway in the wall meaning that as you sit eating, you can people watch; nosying at the business of those getting on with life in the pit. On the opposite wall to this, is a large set of wooden double doors carved with intricate detail and patterns that lead you out onto the corridors of the compound where the dorm rooms and other facilities can be found. Within the canteen itself there are rows and rows of what can only be described as picnic benches painted a deep black colour that can seat up to 12 people, six on either side. The walls are similar to those in the pit, made from rock and uneven like those of a cave; although these are smoother and don't have dangerous pathways running across them miles high from the safety of the ground.

At this moment in time there were 6 of us sat on our table, me and Will sat on our side along with Peter (who was right at the other end of the bench alone) and then Uriah, Al and Edward sat opposite us.

"You gonna eat that?" asked Uriah, his mouth full of food and pointing at my full plate of breakfast.

"No, and neither are you!" I snapped at him, pulling my plate closer and holding it protectively to my chest.

"What, but why?" he whined.

"Because you've already eaten both your share and half of Wills"

"But you're not even eating it though"

"And you're not having it. End of conversation." I said sternly, letting him know I wasn't in the mood for his bullshit today. I know that I was being kind of a bitch as I actually wasn't eating it, but still, if Tris does turn up soon and put my wandering mind to rest; then I probably will do.

"Fine...I'll just have this then" he replied reaching out eagerly to grab the extra plate in front of Al.

"I don't think so" said Al, lifting it out of his way. "That's for Tris".
