A/N - Here's chapter 12, just a shorter one but I hope that you enjoy all the same...I also hope that you're enjoying the story up to now.

It's a lot more serious than the last one, I realise that; but please keep being patient...its getting exciting soon and many secrets are going to start tumbling out.

...secrets from those you wouldn't expect to even be keeping them.

{.....Eric's POV.....}

Still reeling from what I discovered last night, a scowl remains permanently plastered across my face as I strode determinedly through the compound towards Max's office. My boots angrily coming in to contact with the solid ground everytime I slammed them down; I knew they were hiding something! I just knew it!

I crash my clenched fist into a nearby wall, the pain barely registering as all those around me flinch, before scurrying off knowing better than to remain in my company when I was in a mood such as this.

How could I be stupid enough to believe Christina...of all people...when she said that whatever was going on had been about a bloody tampon!

I won't be making that mistake again, that's for sure.

Arriving at the heavy wooden door, sat alone and secluded in the absent corridor, I hesitated in contemplation of my next move. Whether or not I should tell Max what I saw. I must have been stood there for at least 5 minutes before I came to a conclusion for the said dilemma.

No, I wasn't going to tell Max. After all, why would he believe me? In order to prove that his biggest 'ass licker' the almighty Four would disobey him in such a way...I'd need concrete evidence. That of which is not in my possession at this moment in time, due to the annoying fact that the sneaky bastard stole the lights last night meaning the cameras in the pit are going to be useless in helping to back up my argument.

No, if I want evidence...I need to be sneaky about it; after all I have the element of surprise on my side. They have no idea that I know all about their sordid little secret and late night rendezvous'.

I need to think carefully about just how exactly I'm going to execute this plan without them knowing, but first I have a meeting to attend; and when Max summons...you don't keep him waiting.

Taking a deep breath, not of fear...but more of annoyance; why doesn't precious boy ever get dragged here? I knock on the door. After another 30 or so second's, dead silence being the only thing keeping me company...a voice growls from the other side of the thick piece of wood...

"Come In"

I enter without hesitation, closing the door quickly behind me before facing him and nodding respectfully...a typical male greeting. He nods back in recognition from his swivelling chair behind the heavy (and extremely messy) desk, his feet propped lazily on the top in a puddle of paperwork and empty soda cans.

"Took you long enough Eric"

"Apologies Sir, I had to set off the initiates training" I reply, trying hard not to show any signs of resentment...I was in enough trouble already thanks to my episode with Four the other week, after I accused him of being a divergent.

"Never-mind, anyway...I'm sure you're wondering why I have called you here, am I right?" he asks with an interest, his feet having now been removed from the desk; a downfall of paper flying gracefully to the floor as he did so.

I moved to pick them up, but soon stopped as he gave me a stern look that said 'leave it'. I returned to a standing position before replying to his inquisition...

"I assumed it had something to do with my task"

"Not this time, although I hope that everything is going to plan...have you even caught anyone yet?" he gave me a doubting look.
