A/N - Here's part 5, I'm so so sorry it's late but I just couldn't find the time to write anything due to my holidays - hopefully updates will be a lot sooner again now.
I know that I said I wouldn't update for 2 weeks if you guys didn't comment and that it has been 3! But the truth is you guys did comment and I just couldn't find the time.
My fault, Not yours!
Hope I haven't lost any readers
Enjoy!!
{.....TRIS'S POV.....}
Me and Four headed down towards the training room, an awkward quiet filling the empty void that surrounded us. The silence was deafening. Turns out the reason he's even up here in the first place and therefore was able to break up our fight, was because he was coming to tell us to get our asses to training as we were late. It was just as we were nearing the door of our destination that he broke the hush.
"Do you think she's told". His voice not harsh, although, neither was it soft; he also seems oddly calm for someone who could potentially lose his job at any minute now.
Out of habit I looked round quickly for anyone who might be nearby, just as I always did whenever we were together. Luckily there was just me, him and the cold walls of the corridor that were ever going to hear this conversation; this being the last conversation we may ever have...
I shuddered just thinking about it.
"Ummm...I honestly don't know" I whispered quickly. There may have been no one in the corridor with us, but the fact that I could hear the try-hard grunts and groans coming from those behind the door made me very nervous. They were most probably too busy taking out their anger on some poor punching bags to be listening out for us coming; but you can never be too careful, right?
"Well she's your friend, what do you think she's done?" he replied, looking sheepishly towards the closed door.
"I said I don't know didn't I" I snapped, him seeming a little taken-aback at my abrupt bluntness. I don't mean to have a go at him, but if he thinks he's nervous about facing everyone in that room - then he should try putting himself in my shoes.
I'm fucking petrified.
He's the all-powerful mighty Four who dominates a room with just his presence alone. No opening remarks needed; no one would dare (Eric excluded) say shit to him. But me, well I'm just the weedy ex-abnegation girl who's only strength is being able to swiftly conquer a fear landscape. That's not going to be much use in an up-close confrontation, is it?
...And if our differences in intimidation weren't bad enough, I was also under so much pressure with all these awful thoughts I had running round my mind; questions that I want answers too and then there were also possible outcomes for different scenarios that could take place. For example...
She has told no one - everything stays fine.
She has told only our friends - they confront me - promise to keep it a secret - everything's fine.
She has told only our friends - one of them is a little unhappy about it or instead gets too excited with all the gossip - spills the beans to everyone - Shit goes down - One or both of us are made factionless, my parents could find out, we may be forced to split up!
She has told Eric - he has told Max - shit goes down - no doubt (If Eric has anything to do with it) he would make sure we are split up one way or another - One of us factionless, kept apart in dauntless, one of us mysteriously found dead (...and yeah that's nothing new to dauntless life - happens quite frequently if I'm honest).
