Stuart's POV

Ever since Liz got back from the hospital, Eric's and Kenny's jokes have become more specific. They used to just joke about her work, but now they make jokes about her social life.

Every time they walk into her office, I find myself clutching my hands into fists. Liz would always try and catch my eye, sending me a look saying it's okay. Much like today.

I cringed when I heard their witchy laughter from down the hallway. "Get ready. The Wicked Witch of the West and the Wicked Witch of the East are coming," I mumbled.

I looked up to see Liz playfully rolling her eyes, laughing. Her eyes widened before she mouthed, "Be nice."

"Morning, Lizzy!" Eric said, roughly patting me on the back as he and Kenny walked past me.

"Morning, boys," she sighed with a fake smile on her lips. "What can I do for you?" She asked looking away from her computer at the evil twins now sitting on the chairs in front of her desk.

"Well, we just wanted to know how you were feeling?" Kenny asked in a mocking tone.

"You know," she sighed. She looked up at me and smirked before turning her attention back to them. "I'd be doing a lot better if you two weren't stalking my assistant and I."

"Stalking?" Eric scoffed.

"Mhmm," she hummed.

"She has a point," I added. "It's pretty obvious how much you two are obsessed with her." She looked at me and smiled, holding back her laughter.

"Obsessed?" Kenny try to laugh off.

"You know the saying– a little boy only pulls a little girl's pigtail because he has a crush of her," she explained, making it harder for me to keep a straight face. "So, which one of you has a crush on me?"

When neither answered she added, "Or is it both of you and you are secretly fighting for my affection?" I couldn't help but let out a small laugh making Eric glare at me while Kenny looked around, avoiding everyone.

"You're crazy," Kenny laughed nervously.

"Seriously, Liz. Why would we have a crush on you?" Eric snickered. Liz leaned her elbows on her desk, intertwined her fingers and leaned her chin on her hands.

"You tell me," she shrugged. She sent me a smirk before sending a innocent smile towards Kenny.

"I don't. . . I mean we don't. . . " Kenny stuttered, looking at Eric. I bit my lip to keep from laughing at how scared Kenny looked.

Eric's eyes widened. He cleared his throat and glared at Liz. "Don't flatter yourself Lizzy," Eric taunted her. Her smile faltered with each word that left his mouth next. "Who would ever have a crush on a freak like you? You have no social life, you only ever talk about work, you have no personality and can be considered average in the looks department. You're not special, so why would we have a crush on you? The poor bastard who does fall for you, if anyone does, would have to have a lot of patience to deal with your craziness."

Eric stood up and left the office, forcefully pulling Kenny with him. I glared at them until they were down the hallway. When I turned back to Liz, my heart sank as I instantly noticed her biting back tears.

"Liz," I said, getting up from my chair and making my way to her desk.

"I'm fine," her voice broke. She stood up, but I was already standing there, blocking her way. I reached forward and grabbed her hands in mine.

"Liz, look at me." I whispered. When she finally looked at me, a tear slid down her cheek. I let go of one of her hands and caught the tear with my thumb. "Don't listen to them. They're just. . ."
