Chapter 41
Sophie leaned against the wall with her arms folded in her the guest room where her Dad was staying and asked,
"Dad,why are you doing this to me?"
"I am not doing this to you,I am doing this for you. You need to think before you make a big decision like this." Dad lectured.
Sophie walked over and sat on the bed next to him and says,
"I'm growing up...and it's hard for me to do that when you won't let me."
"It's either you're not ready or I'm not ready. But I know I'm ready."
"You are right. If you are happy with this decision then I should be." Dad replied.
"You have my blessing." He ended causing Sophie to cheer and hug her Dad.
~Later~
Ethan came in Sophie's room to see her watching t.v and greets,
"Hey."
"Hey." Sophie greeted back.
"I have some really great news." Sophie announced.
"Unless it's that I can marry you,I don't wanna hear it." Ethan spoke.
"But-" Sophie began.
"You're Dad said that we can't and I have to respect that. I'm sorry,Sophe. I love you." Ethan interrupted.
"You can keep the ring." Ethan continued.
"And you can keep the locket." Sophie uttered with a small smile as Ethan gave a similar smile.
"You couldn't pry it out of my hands." Ethan stated before Sophie squeezed him a little and he hugged back. As soon as they released each other out of each other's arms, they kissed. They didn't want the moment to end. It felt like the world had just begun, time stopped and they were the only two people in the world. About a few minutes later, they finally broke apart.
"I love you." Sophie started.
"I love you more." Ethan responded.
"No,I love you more." Sophie corrected then they couldn't help but kiss each other one last time. This time, they never wanted to let go of the feeling and let it drop to the floor. After at least ten minutes, they broke out of the moment and stopped. The spark was gone forever and the feelings they had for each other had to be locked in their hearts and kept there and never to be poured out to anyone else or to each other. They never loved anyone as much as they love each other and they never will. Ethan ended up moving on and so did Sophie. But their love for each other must be sealed until the day they die. Ethan was in his room avoiding the harsh, dreadful and miserable rainstorm resting on his window couch looking through the window decorated with raindrops rolling down from the outside. He sat there watching Sophie with another boy kissing in a corner between buildings. That should be me, Ethan thought inside his head. I should me making her laugh,I should hold her hands and she should be in MY arms. He stood up and stepped aside from the window and saw on the wall an image of their first moment together. They were three years old and it was the first day of kindergartren. Sophie and Ethan were working on a art project together. Ethan spoke with his three year old voice,
"Promise you will never leave me?"
"I promise," Sophie answered before she hugged him.
"You promised. Why did you leave me?! You're supposed to be in my arms! I'm moving on,you happy now?! 'Cuz I am! Why did you have to dig your way in my life in the first place?! I love you,Sophia and I tell you a trillion times a day and you don't! I wish you were never born! I'd buy you anything! But right now,I hate you!" Ethan yelled to himself. He placed his hands on the wall panting, trying to catch his breath. He gracefully dropped his head down. He lifted his head up and pushed the wall and stepped back from it.
