Chapter 17

"Amber." Fabian worded nudging her shoulder and tilted my head twice in Ethan and Sophie's direction signalling to break them apart. Amber got up and walked over to them and demanded,

"Stay away from her."

"But Amber,I didn't-" Ethan started.

"Did you hear me? I said stay away from her. Got it?" Amber repeated dragging her away as she mouthed 'I'm sorry'. As Amber finished dragging her back to the drama classroom,Fabian comforted,

"Don't worry,Sophe.It's for the best." 

"Yeah,we just want to protect you." Nina added.

"But what if I don't need protection?" Sophie asked.

"Of course you do. He's the descendant of Anubis,the God of death. He'll do anything he can to hurt you." Nina explained.

~After school~

Sophie entered her room with Amber by her side then threw herself on her bed depressed. She just layed there staring at the ceiling with millionths of thoughts rushing to her. Why can't I live a normal life? Why does my life have to be so difficult? What if Ethan does change and wants to hurt me? What can I do to stop him if he does? She heard vibration alerting she got a text that read,

To:Sophe

You know I love you,right?

Sophie re-read the text about ten times before she replied,

To:Ethan

I know you do but they all think you'll gonna try and hurt me.

A few moments later he replied,

To:Sophie

I will never hurt you...ever. I'll protect you with all my life.

Amber saw her on her phone texting someone and knowing it was Ethan,she marched over to her bed and ordered,

"Give me your phone...I know your texting Ethan."

"But I'm not texting Ethan?" Sophie covered.

"Then who are you texting?" Amber asked.

"Austin Mahone?" Sophie lied.

"I wish you were. But nice try.Give." Amber repeated.

"But Amber-" Sophie began softly.

"Give." Amber repeated once again.

"You'll get over him. You just have to make him hate you." Amber advised.

"Have you seen me?" Sophie commented.

"Look at me...I'm adorable." Sophie added.

~Later that night~

"Miss Miller,phone call for you." Victor informed entering Sophie's room. 

"Thanks." Sophie worded before Victor nodded his head and walked away. Amber followed Sophie down the stairs to and grabbed the phone,

"Hello?" Sophie answered.

"You want me to go back home? ....When? ...K,k,see you then...bye." Sophie finished.

"You're leaving?" Amber asked looking sad.

"Just for the weekend. They want me to do one last concert. I'm leaving Friday." Sophie explained quickly getting up.

"But that's two days from now." Amber alerted.

"I'm sorry,Amber. it's just for the weekend." Sophie comforted.
