Standing outside was less noise and Taeil could finally hear himself think. He knew that Dongyoung found teasing him, entertaining, but that wasn't the reason he left the Law lecturer to his laughter, he left because he just wanted some fresh air and he saw that as an opportunity to leave. He found a seat outside by the pool that was covered with a clear hardcover glass to keep it clean and most importantly; prevent idiots from falling to their dooms and drowning, and he sat out there admiring the stars. Only few persons were out where he was and that was fine for him.
After awhile he felt a tap on his shoulder and looked up to see Johnny only after he fell off the chair to land on the soft fake grass. His phone and keys were in his front pocket, thank god, so the landing wasn't as painful. But it still hurt nonetheless.
"Taeil!"
"Ow~"
Johnny rest the drink on the chair and went to help Taeil up from the ground. He held the elder's arm and helped him up and started to brush his pant off. He was at the shorters butt, brushing the fake grass off (which Taeil highly doubt his butt was even messy in the first place) but his hand lingered too long for Taeil's liking. He turned away from the younger male with an awkward smile on his face, while fixing his shirt.
"Uh, thanks." While smiling and grabbing the cup from the seat Johnny says while handing the drink over.
"It's my pleasure." Taeil stared at the cup skeptically before Johnny spoke up.
"I'm not trying to drug you, I'd rather your full consent for whatever you're thinking." Johnny smirked after he chuckled at the older male. Taeil with wide eyes blushed and took the cup looking away mumbling.
"I-i wasn't thinking anything.." That's exactly what the older male was thinking, but heck if he is going to tell Johnny that.
"Hmm.."
Taeil drank the drink in one go, feeling the strong bitterness burning his throat and later on regretted it. This was no apple juice he was drinking, and god is he hoping it is and they liked it expired why it tasted so bitter. Did he just drink alcohol? This can not be happening.
"Jo-Johnny.. was alcohol in that drink?" With eyebrows risen he replied nonchalantly.
"Yea?"
Oh no. Who gives someone alcohol and doesn't even know if they drink it or not? No, which idiot willingly takes a cup of liquid and not ask what kind of drink it was? Why he didn't spit it back in the cup is beyond Taeil's comprehension. He could be allergic to the god damn thing, and Johnny could have killed him right there and then, the one time he solemn attempted to look decent.
"Why would you get me alcohol?! I don't drink!" Johnny was taken aback by the shorter's outburst and he guessed that the latter realized.
"I-i'm sorry.. I didn't mean to yell, it's just.." He sighed before continuing. "Nothing." He didn't drink a lot so maybe he was overreacting. Taeil is a very light drinker so he didn't drink anything but a glass of wine because it was lighter plus he was in the comfort of his home, so he could do any little stupid shit he felt like and not feel burdened by the aftermath of embarrassing himself in front of anticipating eyes.
"I'm sorry Taeil, I didn't know." He isn't quite sure, but maybe the alcohol went to his hearing already because he could have sworn the apology that Johnny gave was not profound.
"It's okay." They stood there in awkward silence as Johnny stared at Taeil's face and how it was beginning to look flush, while Taeil looked at the pool as it was the most interesting thing there.
"Taeil?" He whipped his head up quickly on the call of his name that he wouldn't doubt that he got a whiplash from that action.
"Yea?" He doesn't even know why he is allowing the younger to address him by his first name when he should be calling him by his surname. The shorter male tilted his head to the right now looking at Johnny expectantly. The taller male gestured for Taeil to sit so he sat down and Johnny sat beside him, on the edge because the seat was designed for one person.
"Why isn't your fiancee here?" Taeil sighed loudly and reclined into the seat, closing his eyes.
"She said she has to deal with some stuff for the wedding. She's staying over a friend tonight." Johnny could have sworn he heard uncertainty in the elder's voice when he spoke of his fiancee's where abouts.
"You don't sound very convinced."
"I don't doubt her, if that's what your thinking. I trust her." Is what Taeil is trying to convince himself.
"It's okay to have your doubts you know.. I mean, I would have my doubts too based on what I have seen. But if you trust her, that's great. But just know that it's okay to have your suspicions as well if there is no communication. I'm not assuming, I'm just giving my opinion" Taeil looked at Johnny for a moment before he cracked a smile shaking his head signifying a yes. The older male doesn't usually keep university students as friends, especially from the university he taught because nothing good every comes from it but maybe, and just maybe, he is considering Johnny to be a liable candidate.
~+~
Thirty- five minutes later and Taeil was starting to feel the effect of the drink Johnny gave him but he shrugs it off because he was talking to Johnny now, having a unfeigned conversation and he didn't want the other male to realize that he was actually 'kind of' tipsy.
He didn't need to worry about that though because unknowingly to him, the taller male was more than fully aware that the alcohol is starting to take its effect. With a smirk on his lips and eyes staring into the depths of Taeil's inner being. He thought to himself...
