My life flashed before my eyes.
I felt like I had died and was brought back to life in a single second. And it was not the pleasant kind of 'brought back to life'. I quite literally felt like someone had broken all the bones in my body, took them out for no reason, and then placed them back in.
My head felt very heavy and even with a lot of effort, I still couldn't move. I wanted to open my eyes but they did not comply. I wanted to yell out for someone to help me but no voice came out of my mouth.
The last thing I remember is driving and seeing a bright light.
The light was so blinding that it hurts just thinking about it. I can feel my head pounding at just the memory of the light.
Then came a loud crash; and after that? I felt numb. I don't know where I am. Who brought me here? Where even is here? What is my condition is like?
Am I dead?
Am I in some sort of waiting room, waiting for God to decide my fate? Is he about to decide whether hell or heaven would be more fitting for me? Is it too late to pray now and ask for forgiveness?
I don't consider myself a bad person.
Of course everyone says that but I'm actually being serious. I have never killed anyone...yet. I've never vandalized... well ... never mind. I've never stolen anything though...except for that one gum pack in middle school.
Okay fine, I confess. I may have done a few minor bad things. I've never done anything so bad to the point where I deserve to be damned to hell though.
I mean sure; I'm clumsy and my clumsiness disturbs the peace of most people around me, but does that make me that bad of a person?
"Girl, your thoughts are too entertaining to listen to. I've been sitting here for about an hour and I still haven't felt bored since then." I heard a voice say. I tried to figure out who the voice belonged to but my senses weren't fully back to normal and I couldn't tell who was speaking.
Hello, unknown creature. I come bearing peace. Do you hear me?
I thought and hoped that whoever was around me heard that.
"Dawn, citizen of earth, yes I do hear you." The voice said again and I felt relief take over me. "Also, why are we speaking like this again?" I was finally able to recognize who this voice belonged to. Zach, my freaking guardian angel that apparently really existed.
I can't move, I don't know why.
"Yeah I mean your body is kind of still weak because you kind of just almost died a while ago. Thank you for the excruciating pain, by the way. Oh, if only I can wipe that smirk right off Bob's face. That annoying old man!" Zach continued muttering to himself. If I was able to move my body around and face palm myself, I would. Are angels even allowed to trash talk each other? Probably if they're not in heaven, I guess.
You're kind of getting off track here, Zachary.
"Wait, how did you know that my full name is Zachary?" His voice held curiosity.
I guessed. Nice name, by the way.
"Why thank you, Dawnery."
That's not my name.
"Whatever you say, Dawnery." I could almost hear the smug tone in his voice. I never thought angels would be this annoying. He's lucky I can't move or I would've...plucked his feathers out? I guess?
