Do you remember the time, When you were just so small? Afraid to go to school, crying Was there someone for all? Someone whose kind words, Made you forget your mother? Someone whose touch, voice, Made you long for a school day another? And then you grew up, And school became a thing of joy. Was there someone who always, Made you study but enjoy? You were mischievous, You got into trouble, did a wrong, Was there someone there to cover your faults, But let you off with a warning strong? And when you started, Showing your talents many, Wasn't there someone searching for you, For big and small function any? As much as you may deny it, You have had someone , Preferring you more than others, Staying till your task is done. Whenever you faced a problem, And got stuck in studies, Wasn't there a person to guide you? And sometimes be friendly as buddies? And when you didn't want, That person forced assignments on you, But once you did, and got good marks, Wouldn't you try more to do? Everyone must have hated, Someone at school giving stern looks, But always kept a false smile pasted, To stay in their good books. And one day you were a high schooler, It was a time of an emotional strife, Did you get someone to whom, You owe your decisions in life? If you remember all these things, Do you remember who and why? Your teachers, your mentors, Your counselor, guide and Sensei. They were the people, That were like a candle bright, They pave the way for others, And burn out to give light. And now you're in college, Don't scrunch up your nose, Cause I know there is someone here too, For whom these all goes. So thus we've gathered together, To honour everyone of them today, Who shaped us, molded us, Wish you a very happy teachers' day.
