I may
Put up a brave face,
Shrug off your rejection.I may
Tell stories of how it's over.
And that
I don't need you now.I may
Put you down in my head,
Try to hate you
For everything. But my heart is battling,
My mind tries to be saner.
And yet I'm divided, broken. My ego versus my desire.
My anger versus our friendship.
It's always a momentary clash,
Versus the finality of our bond.I may
Shout with all my strength
That I don't miss you.I may
Smile and pretend,
Ignore my tears and
Behave as if nothing happened. But why do I break into pieces.
When I see you again? Why can't I avoid looking back,
Always hoping to see that smile?
The one that always melts me.But I know I can't expect.
But I may hope that someday.
You'd come back.
And we'd talk as if.
Nothing had ever happened. But hope is a four letter word,
Innocent and deadly.
It can make you,
And it can break you.
I'm afraid to hope anymore.A/N Written with hope to someone whom I'm missing. #Februaryhasaffection
