(You)
Saiki's parents weren't home. They would be out all day for a wedding. So naturally, Saiki invited you over to spend the day with him. It was a cold day so neither of you wanted to go outside and do anything, and besides, you were both comfortable under separate blankets. You were in a fort Saiki helped you build while Saiki's went to retrieve two hot chocolates for you both. You were internally screaming, which didn't mater since Saiki decided to wear his germanium ring today.
I'm going to be sharing this tiny-ass fort with Him. You weren't complaining, in fact you really wanted to share this fort with him. It was bigger than your box so you could escape if he tried anything again. You were sure he wouldn't after everything that happened yesterday. I can't believe I kissed his cheek... what was I thinking?! I mean it was in the heat of the moment and he didn't teleport away... is that a good thing?
"I'm back."
You jumped and lifted up the flap to let the pinkette in. He looked at you and handed you a white mug with tiger stripes on it. His was black with an image of coffee jelly centered on it. The words above and below it read, It's not procrastinating if you're drinking coffee. It's "procaffinating".
(A/N: not my joke ^ found it online)
You laughed, thinking that the mug suited your frienemy well. "Nice mug," you commented and blew on your hot cocoa to cool it down a little; you didn't want to burn your tongue. Saiki nodded and took a sip of the sweet drink.
"Careful! You'll burn your-" you paused as soon as you had the profound realization that he was drinking it with ease. He wasn't even flinching or hissing or pulling his (perfect) lips away from the hot beverage. How on earth is that boy not suffering? Drinking a scalding hot drink is like, the worst possible torture! You can't eat anything or taste food for the rest of the day! Kusuo noticed the blown away look on your face and decided to explain to you that he could manipulate temperature too, but only for things within a small range. "For example," he went on, "I can cool down or warm up this beverage here, but I can't control the temperature of the outdoors."
"So there is something you can't do!" You pointed a finger accusingly, earning a cocked brow from Saiki. He brought a hand up and moved your hand down. "There are many things I can't do. I'm not perfect, (l/n). What, did you think I can do anything?"
"And everything."
He sighed. You realized before long that your hand felt rather warm. You looked down to find that Saiki's was still resting on yours after moving it away from his face. He didn't seem to notice, but he also didn't seem like he would care to move his hand. If I move mine, would it be weird? Would he get all flustered or would he think I'm being rude? You stared, examining the situation and thinking of the best way to approach it calmly. You set your cocoa aside to let it cool down, and in the end decided to let Saiki figure out what was going on by himself. "Thanks for helping me build this fort, Saiki."
The male looked at you, peering over the lenses of his fogged glasses and the edge of the coffee mug. He shrugged and spoke to you telepathically as he drank, "Thanks for not making me do it alone." He set his drink down and looked at you again with that same precious piercing stare. Violet eyes gazed at you with what seemed like boredom, but at this point you knew enough to decipher his emotions and feelings. You could pick up on them the closer the two of you got. Most of them anyway. You had always been better with picking up on negative emotions. The more positive they were the more faint they were to you. He was sincerely thankful for your aid, and grateful too. "Why would I make you set up the fort on your own? It was my idea after all." Saiki said, "Well that's never stopped my folks from asking me to do just about everything for them." You giggled. It would have been easier to set up the fort with Kusuo's psychic powers, but you liked doing a little work here and there. It made you feel like the outcome was worth so much more...
"You know this would go a lot faster if you just let me do the whole thing." Pillows and blankets floated in the air as you struggled to add a blanket to the fort to make it a little bigger. No way were you going to be crammed in a tight space with Saiki again. What if he tried to make a move on you? Again. "No," you insisted, "I can do it."
After you got the blanket situated, you went to grab another pillow to add inside the cave of blankets. Saiki lifted up the blanket with his powers and refused to let you reach it. You jumped for it a few times but were unable to reach. Saiki was having fun watching you suffer. "Saiki!" You whined as you reaches again for the blanket. "I could put this together in five seconds flat. It'll take five minutes your way."
"I don't care! Give it back, you jerk! Just because you have powers doesn't mean you have to do everything by yourself! The fort is more fun when we work together!" The male rolled his eyes and lowered the blanket into place on the fort. He brought another chair over and with his powers, handed you another blanket. He crossed his arms. "Well? Take it. What are you waiting for?" You giggled and grabbed the blanket with both arms. "Thank you, Saiki!"
(Saiki)
He had to admit that it was kind of nice not to be asked to do everything for once. He felt that for once in his life he could finally culminate in the glory of hard work. Sure he didn't do much in terms of physical labor, but he was patient and he worked with you as a team. It felt nice. You were the reason he was able to experience things he never did before.
He looked at you, watching you take a sip of your cocoa. It was still hot but he sure as hell wasn't going to tell you. You helped instantly and stuck your tongue out, going cross eyed to try to examine it. You pouted and poked your tongue trying to feel if it was raw or not. Your shoulders slumped and you frowned and even whimpered a bit.
As the pinkette watched all of this go down, he felt something. Sure he felt it before around you, but not like this. His chest tingled and so did his toes and fingertips. The wonderful feeling traveled to the pit of his stomach and soon his limbs ached with it. She's adorable. She's annoying. She's feisty. She's an idiot. She's independent. She's true to herself and others. She doesn't fake anything or try to be something she isn't... "Oh wow."
"What was that?" You looked at him. Luckily in the dark of the fort you couldn't see him covering his mouth and blushing. "Ah... Ow. As in that must have hurt. You okay?"
You looked at him, bewildered. "Since when do you care whether I'm okay or not?"
"You've got a point." His gaze traveled down and he soon realized his hand was on top of yours. He tried to swallow but the lump in his throat prevented him from doing so. He couldn't contain himself much longer. He could hear his heart pounding in his ears, his face heating up, his body tensing. I'm not supposed to feel this way...
"Ah, S-Saiki..." your voice chirped shyly. He looked at you and suddenly realized the whole fort was floating in the air along with almost everything in the living room. Intense emotions... dammit. I hate feelings.
The boy swiftly but carefully put everything back, even the fort. You looked at him with concern clear in your eyes. It also dripped from every word, "What was that all about?" He shook his head. "Sorry. Sometimes I lose control."
"I hope that never happens in public... that would be very bad."
"Would it really?" He asked sarcastically. Saiki sighed and pretended to be tired, "It also happens when I'm exhausted."
"Oh," you began. "Maybe you should get some sleep then? I'll clean up then go home so you can-"
"No!" He cut you off. You gawked at him. He was never abrupt like that so why all of a sudden was he raising his voice? He was acting strange. "No?" You gave him an inquisitive look. He hung his head and you could see the small ray of light peeking through the blanket-doors and reflect off of one of his antennas. He sighed, "Stay." It was an order.
(Both)
The male curled up and rested his head on your lap causing you to nearly scream.
"Wh-what are you doing?"
"Resting."
"What if I have to move my legs?"
"Don't."
"There's like a million pillows in here. Can't you rest on one of those?" You weren't necessarily annoyed with him, but you did want to lay down too. You just didn't tell him that. He groaned and sat up then changed positions, resting on one of the pillows now. What a jerk. Alright Mr. Psychic... let's see how you'll react when I make a move? You laid down beside him and snuggled into him, waiting for him to teleport or push you away or send you home. But he didn't do any of those things. In fact, he put an arm around you and pulled you closer. You blushed and your heart stopped. It twisted up and exploded with a blissful feeling. Meanwhile, Saiki was fighting with himself. Stay calm, stay calm, stay calm... she can hear your heartbeat. Nope. You were too focused on your own to notice his. He smelled wonderful, and you realized then that he was wearing cologne. You never remembered him wearing any cologne... especially for a simple get together like this. Although this wasn't so much a "simple get together" anymore. It escalated quickly.
Saiki held you close and carefully tucked your head under his chin. He was worried about hurting you since he couldn't control his own strength well enough, but he wouldn't let himself harm you. He wouldn't let anyone harm you for that matter.
He couldn't watch you get hurt.
He was too in love.
