DISCLAIMER: ONE OF THE MAIN INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS CHAPTER, THE PEACE SERUM, CAME FROM VERONICA ROTH'S BOOK: INSURGENT. INCLUDING TRIS'S BEHAVIOR WHILE UNDER IT!
(Your POV)
You laid on Saiki's couch reading the second book in the Divergent series while Saiki sat on the floor watching the TV, his back against the sofa and his head near your abdomen. He didn't seem too insistent to sit on the couch as you looked comfortable already. You tried to read, but the television was too loud for you to read without a foggy mind.
"Saiki, could you turn that down a little?"
He picked up the remote and turned the volume up. You scowled, unamused, and positive that he was smirking. You nudged the back of his head, annoyed by his little act of mischievous defiance. "Ku, I said turn it down, Dingus." Again, he turned the volume up. You glared at the back of his head and closed Insurgent abruptly. You reached for the remote, but he made it float out of your reach. You were now hanging off the couch, stretching to reach the blasted thing, too stubborn to move from your spot. Saiki watched your feeble attempts to reach the remote and waited until your fingertips were an inch away from the devise to move it one more inch further. You let out and exasperated sigh and your upper body collapsed to the floor. He looked at you with a vacant expression—except for the hint of a smirk at his lips. You gave him a look of disapproval.
"Jerk."
"Weirdo."
"Asshole."
"Dumbass."You launched for the remote, and crashed into the floor. Saiki now had the remote high up in the air, once again just out of your reach. He kept turning up the volume and watching you struggle. Meanwhile, he took a seat on the couch and set your book on the coffee table. He laid down and turned his attention toward the TV, still not letting you reach the damned remote. You grunted and gasped and whined as you reached and jumped and stretched on your tiptoes trying to retrieve the controller, but every time you got close to getting it, Saiki would immediately make it float higher so that it was just out of your reach.
"Kusuo!" You cried out. Frustrated with his teasing you sat on his stomach and crossed your arms. He grunted and looked up at you, narrowing his gleaming eyes behind the lenses of his glasses. "Get off," he demanded. "Turn down the TV!" you retorted. He rolled his eyes and easily lifted you up with telekinesis. You shouted, surprised, and squirmed in the air.
"Put me down!"
"Do you ever say please?"You froze. You looked at him, your normally cheerful eyes struck with the lightning of rage. "PLEASE!" He nodded and dropped you onto the floor, then turned down the TV. You scowled and pouted on the floor. He raised a brow and shook his head, "Good grief, you're so annoying."
"I'm annoying?" You couldn't believe Saiki had just tortured you because you didn't say "please." You huffed and got up. You stood by the couch.
"Can I have my spot back?"
"What did we just go over?"
"Please..." You grumbled. Car lights flashed through the window, and both of Saiki's parents raced for the door eagerly, leaving you and your friend in the living room. But Saiki looked like he was seeing a ghost. "What's wrong with-" a heartbeat later you were yanked down on top of him, and a shriek erupted from your throat. You were laying down on top of Saiki, your head on his chest. His arm was wrapped firmly around you, keeping you in place with his crushing strength."What has gotten into you? Let go of me!" He didn't. "Please?" He glared at you. "Shut up and act like we're dating."
What...? Your face heated up.
Saiki's face was turning red, too. He gulped, "Don't get the wrong idea. My brother Kusuke is here, and he's less likely to flirt with you if you're not single. And less likely to pick on me if I'm the one you're with."
"Right..." Never thought I would have this kind of relationship with Ku even if it did start to develop this rout.
