You and Saiki walked home from school together today. You were sure to leave at the same time he did so you could walk beside him... or rather bounce and skip beside him. There was no one around so you asked him some questions. You would have asked them at school but you figured the discussion would be best if it was had out of earshot of other teens. "Last night was something, huh?"

"Don't make it sound like we did something dirty. You just found out my secret."
You sighed and looked at him. You went from skipping to walking normally next to him. "Why don't you smile, Saiki?" "Because to smile I would have to be happy. And feelings suck. Besides if I get too overwhelmed something bad could happen. I might lose control of my powers." It made sense to you, but you still wished you could see him smile. But you weren't focused on his powers anymore as much as the whole thing enraptured you. "Hm... well you can't stop yourself from being happy. You may be psychic but you're still human, Sai.—" "Don't call me that," he cut you off. "I guess it's safe to say I am happy. I've been happy before but I can't let myself get overexcited. Any extreme amount of any feeling and I could lose it."

The two of you walked in silence, and you began to wonder what would happen if Saiki ever fell in love. What if it was ardent love? What would happen then?

"Love isn't an issue," the male answered your thought aloud. You looked at him, remembering that he could read minds. "I don't do romance, I don't think I'll ever want a relationship." His words stunned you. Deep down he had to know that even he couldn't help but fall in love one day. It wasn't up to him. "What about Kokomi? Every guy in school likes her." And that was the reason you weren't going to bother looking for love at P.K. Every guy was too busy fawning over the most perfect girl to notice you. "She isn't my type," the male said flatly and sincerely. At least one boy wasn't under her spell...
"I'm going to make a bet with you," you said, capturing Saiki's full attention. "Good grief." He sounded bothered but you didn't care.
"If you don't want to have a relationship with someone by the beginning of the next school year, I'll buy you as much coffee jelly as you want," now the boy was really listening. "And if you do want to start a relationship, you have to smile for me whenever you see me for a whole week!"

"You do realize I could just lie to you, right?"
"But you won't. I trust you!" You beamed at him and he rolled his eyes. "You shouldn't."
"But I do."
"Don't."
"Too late."
"(L/n), you're making a mistake."
"What? I'm sorry I can't hear you. All I know is that I'm right to trust you."
"You're wrong."

The argument progressed and eventually it somehow ended up at who was more right. You had to argue that even as a psychic he wasn't all knowing, and he argued that he pretty much was. Of course his arguing was rude, sarcastic, and blunt. Yours was heated, passionate and filled with confidence. You decided to go to Saiki's house again and have a snack before you began working. Saiki told you he wouldn't feed you anything for fear that you would get too comfortable in his home. He didn't want you feeling like you could just come over anytime. Luckily you brought your own snack; cookies. While Saiki enjoyed coffee jelly, you nibbled in a few mini cookies that you made the other day.

(Saiki)
Does she really think she can win this bet? Love is a mystery to me and I'd like to keep it that way. He glanced at you as you enjoyed a cookie, thinking it was to be expected. Cookies were one of your favorite treats. Sorry, (l/n), but you're not going to win this one. I'm not interested in anyone. I can read minds so I know who they truly are. You... well you're confusing to me. It seems like you are a genuinely good person, but I know you have a dark side.

You sat on the floor while he laid on the bed. You brainstormed ideas for presenting the project. You decided to make a cardboard set up where students could come and read the messages for themselves.
