Chapter-9: Broken Facade

The next morning Hei woke up early as she had a class at 8 in the morning so she took her coffee tumbler along with her to the class.

On reaching the class she sat on the third bench. The class was full by 8 and Jb came in last and sat with Hei since that was the only seat left empty.

"Fuck", she cursed under her breath.

What have I done to be this lucky?, her nose scrunched with annoyance.

"Good morning to you too", the ball of happiness said with a bright smile.

"Why are you here?"

"I study here as well and I guess we are in the same class. The same subject.", he occasionally winked at the girls making them giggle.

"So?", she rolled her eyes at him.

"I think its meant to be", he winked at her as well and she scoffed.

Just when she was about to get up from her seat the teacher walked in.

Fuck she cursed mentally and Jb smirked pointing above, reminding her of their destiny.

She ignored him and fortunately for her he didn't say a thing, the class went on for an hour and a half and to her surprise Jb knew the answer to every question the prof threw his way.

Impressive she said to herself.

"So I'll be dividing you guys according to your roll numbers. For this project", the Professor said and announced the pairs.

"Jaebum and Hei-ran, you guys will work on the ancient egyptian history", Jb was surprised by his luck whereas Hei looked straight at the Professor without any emotions.

"What?", they said in unison.

"I'm not gonna switch partners if that's what your 'what' meant", he said, "Class dismissed."

They both went out of the class and went to the cafeteria. Hei was already annoyed and walked fast, mentally praying to lose Jb in the process but when she noticed him behind her she abruptly stopped making him stop him as well.

"Listen let's just divide the work. You cover the pyramids. I'll cover the rest", she said quickly and mentally prepared everything they could do without meeting often

"Just so you know I'm not dying to work with you either but this is a group project and i don't wanna get anything less than an A", he said and Hei was taken aback with his nerdy attitude

"Okay. Whatever", she shrugged and drank her coffee.

"I'll come to your place at 5", Jb said getting up and Hei looked at him sipping her coffee

She saw In-ha and Yugyeom walking towards her with a smile. 

Finally they're not being awkward.

In-ha hugged Jb making Hei roll her eyes. Yugyeom made his way towards Hei and sat next to her followed by In-ha

"Fuck it"

"Fuck what?",she asked.

"Jb. That stubborn asshole" In-ha tried to hide her smirk

"Why? What has he ever done to you?",with curiosity she looked at her and leaned forward.

Yugyeom gave her a little smirk as well.

"You need to give him a break" Yugyeom told Hei.

"I'd break his face if i could"

"Why are you cursing him?"

"Because he's been paired with me for this history project we just got" she said annoyed but In-ha and Yug passed a knowing smile to each other
