Chapter-18: Stunningly Unobservant

Never in a million years Jb would've taken Hei for someone who loved bowling.

Someone who barely smiled and with an uptight personality, laughing looking at the scoreboard.

Then again why wouldn't she, the one who never lost to anyone was still maintaining her winning streak on their first date.

Jb sighed with delight.

Date

"For someone who is losing you sure look happy", he looked at her and for the first time in so long he smiled making Hei look at him suspiciously.

"You're smiling and it's creepy". 

The statement immediately removed the smile which caused Hei to laugh.

"Then you call me uptight." 

Jb snickered while she looked at the scoreboard again.

"Since you lost, you'll pay for the food", her eyes glittered with excitement.

"It's out first date why would I let you pay?", word's left his mouth before his mind could register.

Jb looked at Hei hesitantly but when their eyes met he relaxed a bit. She was looking at him... Almost lovingly.

"We're going to Shake Shack", she declared while moving past him.

Suddenly Jb smirked. 

"You're not even denying its our first date."

She turned around at narrowed her eyes at him, "I don't want to break that heart of yours but you're testing your luck."

Jb smiled at jogged towards her.

How much i missed her glaring at me he thought to himself.

Hei feasted on chicken and fries, she moaned in delight with every bite.

"You really do love chicken", he stated.

"Only a fool wouldn't"

"I can watch you all day", this time his thoughts were loud.

Loud enough for both of them.

Hei choked on her food and Jb moved towards her while rubbing her back

I seriously need to control my thoughts he mentally facepalmed while patting her on the back.

"You seriously need to control your thoughts", she said after recovering from her almost death parade.

Jb's eyes widened but soon a large smile plastered on his face.

"There you go again with that creepy smile", she scooted away a little.

Even though Jb had that creepy smile all night, she liked it.

It almost felt natural with him and she wanted to live with it as long as he granted this unknowing wish of hers

"it's so unusual", she said while walking towards his car

Jb looked at her in confusion. 

"You making me laugh is unusual", she chuckled a bit and Jb rolled his eyes.

"I'm quite funny", Jb smirked a little.

"Yeah right!"

He opened his mouth to say something but then decided against it
"You look beautiful today" he suddenly said

Hei froze at the intensity of his voice.

Like a gentleman he opened the car door and Hei with shaky legs sat inside the car.

"I'm glad i was the reason behind that smile", with that he shut the door. 

Her heart was pounding, the guilt was back again and her head was clouded of all his possible reactions.

Her heart screamed out the confession every time he said something.

When Jb entered the car Hei looked at him. Jb was about to start the car when Hei stopped him.

She wanted to do this before it all went down in flames, she made herself comfortable on his laps. His breath hitched at her sudden bold actions

"I don't know why but i really wanted to kiss you right here, right now.", she said while connecting her lips to his.

The week went awfully quiet, the painful silence was just as calm as the silence before the storm.

And soon the day came when all hell broke loose.

"I swear I will shove your fork up your ass if you don't shut this shit up", Youngjae threatened before drowning in his book again

"Why my fork? Try it with yours", Bam said teasingly making Youngjae's eyes go pitch back.

They all started eating their lunch, not paying mind to anyone else around them.

The presentation went well for Hei but spending time with Jb, it was like he was stuck there, in her head, in her thoughts, in her heart.

He's arrogant and smug most of the time but he isn't what he lets on. He's a baby who is ready to be loved.

She was in her own thoughts when Jb sat beside her quietly and leaned against the chair before he spoke.

"Looks like someone's tired."

The whole table went silent.

The boys looked at Hei but In-ha diverted their attention towards her and winked at Jb.

Jb gave her a smile and looked again at Hei.

"Hi", she responded. Her voice shook a little .

"What are you doing here?"

Jb chuckled, "Why do you always want to send me away?"

"Why do you always follow me around?", she fired back with equal sarcasm.

"So you do notice me?", he questioned, a little too happily on his part.

"Yeah. I mean, How can ignore the constant obnoxious presence behind me", she rolled her eyes.

"Seriously why are you here?", she said while closing her eyes and leaning a bit towards Yugyeom.

Jb raises both eyebrows, "What are you like this?"

"Like what?"

" A mean girl"

"Because you're the Cady to my Regina", she retorted.

He slouches, fighting back a grin.

"Ouch", he smirks, "I guess this means you no longer find me the Aaron of your life?"

She opened her eyes at his comment His hair falls messily forward and he tries to flick it but is unsuccessful.

He groans in frustration so she moves forward while removing his hair from his face.

"You need a haircut", she says more to herself.

"Do I?", Jb smirks and Hei pushes him slightly, a light blush on her face.

She suddenly notices Jinyoung looking at their table at first his eyes on In-ha and then on Hei, suddenly a smirk appears on his face which settles an uneasy feeling inside her.
