Chapter 11: You and Me

I waited on Harry as he left a tip on the table for our waiter and we walked to the door of the restaurant. As we were walking past the booth where the laugh from earlier had emanated from I caught a glimpse of unnaturally blonde hair.  We headed out into the cold New York air and I was happy that I had a decent coat. As we were heading towards the black car Harry pulled me to the side.

“What do you say if we walk the food off?” He asked smiling at me. I nodded as I stuck my almost freezing hands in my pockets and we started walking down the sidewalk.

I looked up at the Christmas lights hanging in the streets. I was so beautiful. They looked like stars and really added to the holiday spirit.

“I really love this time of year here.” I told Harry as I stood looking up at the lit snowflakes that were hanging.

“It is beautiful.” He replied and wrapped his arm around my waist as we continued to our walk. Harry lost in his own world as we looked at the wonderful lights on our way towards the park.

We weren’t the only ones on the street but for some reason I felt like we were being followed. Which wouldn’t make sense because who would follow us? Well I mean besides obsessed fans that seemed to be quiet absent during this entire trip.

“What’s the matter?” Harry asked me taking notice in my distracted face.

“I feel like we’re being followed.” I admitted to him despite how nutty that seemed. We both turned around but only saw an old couple, a small family, a stray cat that was too cute and a rather large group of carolers.

Harry led me to a bench underneath a decorated oak tree and we sat there silently for a bit.

“Harry, this may seem a bit weird but I think that I really like you.” I said turning to him and blushing.

“Really? I couldn’t tell.” He said smiling at me as I blushed and looked away quickly, too much blushing for one evening. I felt a slight shiver run up my spine as the cold tried pushing through my coat.

I felt something cold land on my cheek and I looked up. I noticed there were white specks falling down.

“Wow, it’s snowing.” I said smiling out Harry as I turned my face up and stuck out my tongue and felt the soft ice fall on my face. I felt his body shake as he chuckled at my child-like behavior. I looked at him smiling. I saw his hand come closer as he brushed my hair away from my face.

“You have snow in your hair.” He commented brushing my hair once more.

“Well the snow is falling, and it’s bound to land in it.” I tried saying as the cold finally took over and my teeth began to chatter. Harry scooted closer and wrapped his arms around me.

“Are you ok?” he asked as his warm breath hit my face and formed a cloud in the air. I laughed as I nodded still shivering a bit.

“I can see your breath.” I commented laughing even more. I turned my face away from his and puffed out my own cloud as he laughed at me. I liked his laugh it was contagious. I liked that he laughed at me. So we sat there in each other’s arms for awhile making out own clouds. I tried my Cruella Deville impression on him as well and we were both shaking with laughter. There was a tinkling of laughter from somewhere above us as well. I looked up curiously but you couldn’t really see much of the tree.

“This may sound crazy, but was it just me or did you hear that laugh as well?” I asked turning to him. He looked up as well.

“You’re making her seem like a nutter!” I heard an Irish voice say obviously trying to be quiet but utterly failing.
