 Ch. 26: Live While We’re Young (yup I just did that…)  

I woke up to a heavy weight over my body and somebody breathing into my neck. I turned my head to see the sleeping Harry holding onto me. I couldn’t help the urge to snuggle into him and just lie there without a care in the world, and then one thought came to my mind. I currently had a hung-over ex-boyfriend healing on my couch. I carefully removed Harry’s arm ad untangled my legs as I rolled slowly out of bed, taking care not to wake him. I couldn’t help but look at him even for a moment. His eyelashes kissing his cheeks, the way his curly hair was messed up from a night’s sleep, and the tranquility in his face, yup he had to be the most handsome guy that I thought I ever loved, and not just for those reasons. He was sweet, charitable, loving, talented, funny, and smart, in his own way. I turned taking one last look and headed to the kitchen.

With a fresh cup of coffee in my hand I sat on the coffee table in front of Ben who was still asleep. He looked wrecked and to be honest I didn’t even want to wake him but I knew I had to get this out of the way and him out of my home. I raised my hand up and hit him on top of the head causing him to quickly jump out of his inebriated state.

“What the fuck!” He cried as he grabbed his head and sat up.

“Well that certainly woke you. Here I made you a cup.” I said as I handed him the coffee.

“Thanks.” He mumbled taking a gulp. “What happened last night? How did I even get here?” He asked looking up at me.    

“Erm… Well let’s just say you weren’t really yourself…” I said as I scratched my head. I would spare the embarrassment and let him be on his way.

“Oh… that bad huh? Look sorry Charlie whatever happened last night was a mistake. I hope we can put this behind us and go out for breakfast?” He asked with a hopeful smile on him. I really felt bad for him. He didn’t look so hot either. I heard Harry shuffling about in my room and Ben must have heard him as well.

“I’m sorry Ben, I have company and besides that I don’t think that’s such a great day.” I told him as I stood up and headed towards the door.

“Oh, yeah, I understand.” He replied following me. “Well then, I’ll see you around then I guess.” He kissed my cheek and left.

As I closed the door I noticed Harry standing and smiling at me.

“Morning.” He said as he grabbed my face and kissed my forehead. I couldn’t help smiling as the warmth on my face spread. I bit my bottom lip to prevent my face from ripping in half.

Oh god! Why did he make me feel this way? I just wanted to wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him! Kiss him long and lovingly! But I can’t do that… I wasn’t really ready for that! What if he no longer felt the same way?

“So, what do you want to do today lovely?” He asked me with a smile sliding his hand into mine.

“Stand here forever and let you hold me.” I smiled as I looked up into his brilliant eyes.

“Though that sounds like a great idea I think we’re both a bit hungry.” HE smiled as my stomach growled a bit form below. “So you go get dressed and we’ll have a lovely breakfast at a café, whaddya say?” He asked as he led me to my bedroom.
