Soda POV
I sat, with my head in my hands on the bed. Why was I so stupid? I heard footsteps coming to the room. Then I heard the voice of Ponyboy say, "Soda?" Darry is going to skin me. "Yeah? What, does Darry want to scream at me some more?" I don't know why I'm being mean to Ponyboy. I'm just stressed. "He wants you to go into his bedroom. So I can sleep or something like that." Oh glory. "Darry might actually kill me." I sighed as I walked out of the room. As I walked into Darry's room, I was relieved to see that he wasn't in there. I sat down on the floor cross legged, and put my head in my hands. Finally, I heard the door open. I looked up. His grey eyes looked like two blocks of ice. I don't think I've ever seen him this mad, other than the time he..... the time Ponyboy ran away. "What the heck Soda! Do you want Ponyboy to get put in a boys home." I winced, and shook my head. "Well, if the state finds out you were there...." He trailed off. "You didn't even tell Ponyboy where you were going! You know he wouldn't have been a snitch, he was worried sick!" Yeah, no way Pony's gonna be sleeping tonight. "Because I knew if I told him, you would find out, and yell at him as if you don't do it enough already." I murmured. I hated it when him and Pony fight. "Why can't you just listen to me! I don't tell you you can't do things a lot, and the on time I do..." I honestly considered running. If he gets any more angry, he may be wanted for murder. "You run off! It's just a dang rumble! Last time the socs said they would get out of neighborhood, they didn't! What's so different?" He demanded. "They hurt Ponyboy." I began in a shallow voice. "They are the reason Dally and Johnny are dead! I couldn't let them win." I finished in a while in a quiet voice. Darry stared at me. "We've beaten them before, that only made them want to kill Ponyboy even more! Did we even win?" I nodded. "That's just going to make them want him dead more. Didn't you think?" He growled.    I slowly shook my head and he muttered, "Obviously not." I looked up at him. He was glaring at a wall, and he was obviously trying not to scream. He wasn't doing a very good job. "I could care less if you went to the rumble when I told you not to, if it didn't put us in danger of losing Ponyboy!" He looked madder than I've ever seen him. "Why were you so stupid! Honestly I don't know what...." He trailed off but I knew what he was going to say. 'Honestly i don't know what I'm going to do with you.' I'm honestly surprised he hasn't killed me yet. He rubbed a hand to his face, trying to calm himself down. I didn't see it working any time soon.
Ponyboys POV
I was hoping he would stop soon. I hated it. I knew there was no way I could even try to sleep, so I walked into the living room. I was surprised that Steve and TwoBit weren't here yet, but I assumed they were taking care of there injuries. I could still hear em fighting, but it wasn't as loud. I decided to read Gone with the wind for the millionth time. As soon as I picked up the book, the door banged open. I jumped and turned to face it. TwoBit was coming in. "Hey. We creamed them socs. It was awesome. Steve walked away barely injured. And-" but suddenly he stopped. I could tell he was listening. He groaned and sat down. "Steve will be here soon." He mumbled and plopped in the sofa. True to his word, Steve came into the room smiling. "Soda did awesome. He kicked O'Connor in the face so hard he blacked out! It was awesome." He exclaimed. He was halfway to the sofa when he stopped. Steve is going to kill somebody. He growled. "If he touches Soda, I will kill him. Slow torture, and then bury the body." He sat down on the sofa and glared at nothing in particular. TwoBit turned in the tv and started flicking through the channels. It drowned out any other sounds, so it was good. Only a slight murmer could be heard. Steve became restless. TwoBit tried to ignore them. After like, 5 minutes of trying to watch tv, not really comprehending anything, I heard a door bang open. Soda came into the room. He looked angry and scared at the same time. Not even realizing that people were in the room, he stormed out of the house and slammed the door shut.
