—fourteen years ago

"I need to get that I need to get that I need to- ah!" She giggled as she tripped and fell down the sand. She put pressure on her hands down the ground to help her stand up and started to run once more, chasing the black kitten.

She went after the kitten, chanting her usual phrases she told herself a while ago. She was really hopeful that she could get the kitten, but apparently, the kitten was way faster than her. Moving her little legs, she ran and ran until the next thing she knew, she bumped into a person.

She looked up and held her head, as she saw the guy, looking down at her. He tilted his head.

"Kitten . . ." She mumbled as she looked at the kitten running farther away from her. She sighed.

Still, the confused continued to stare at the girl.

She looked up and saw the guy once more, his eyes laid on her only.

She immediately bowed. "I'm sorry."

"Are you chasing the kitten?" He asked. She nodded sadly.

The boy looked cold. He had a pale skin, brown eyes and black hair. He was wearing a cap faced backwards and headphones wrapped around his neck. His straight look didn't wear off his face when he asked the girl.

"Wait here." He said.

She tilted her head in confusion, but did so anyways. As he disappeared from his sight, she sat down the white sand and looked at the view in front of her, the sight of the blue sea mesmerising her.

After a while, she felt someone poke her shoulder.

She looked at the person who did so to her, and she saw the guy from earlier, but with one difference; he was holding a kitten.

He handed her the kitten, but this time, it was all white. Her eyes widened and her lips curved into a big smile. Her mood enlightened as she slightly squealed while carefully carrying the kitten from his hands.

She stood up and bowed for a long time. "Thank you! Thank you so much!!!"

He reached his hand out to her and had a gummy smile painted on his face. "I'm Min Yoongi."

"You're korean?" She dumbfoundedly asked.

"Obviously, we've been talking Korean since a while ago." He said as a matter of fact.

"Right." She chuckled as she stuck her hand out to him with her other arm carrying the furry creature, shaking their hands. "I'm Choi Abbie, and thank you so much for grabbing this kitten for me."

"I didn't grab it for you." He shrugged, obviously lying. "I just found it somewhere there." He said as they put their hands down.

"Oh," She rubbed her elbow, embarrassed. "How old are you?"

"I'm ten, what about you?"

"I'm six," She giggled. "You're so old."

He shrugged. "That doesn't matter. So are we friends now?"

Immediately? She thought to herself.

"I guess we are." She cheekily smiled, showing her dimples.

They grinned to each other, while air was getting passed them.

"I guess I'll have to go now, my mom's waiting for me. Where do you live in Korea?"

"De something??" She unknowingly scratched the back of her head.

"Daegu." He chuckled. "What a coincidence, I live there too. I wish I'll see you there soon. Anyways, I'll get going. See you, friend!" He smiled as he raised his hand up, before going away.

She smiled to herself. "Maybe it wasn't a coincidence at all, maybe it was fate." She mumbled to herself.
