"Daddy? We need to talk to you." I told him. The Saviors had just had a meeting in the dining area and Daryl was waiting outside for it to be over so we could talk to Daryl and I about our plan. Even Dawson was on bored and if my dad saw that both his children were for it, maybe he'd budge.
"What is it?" He asked, still sitting at the table. Dawson and Simon were there too, waiting to here what I had to say.
"Dawson, Daryl, and I were talking and we have an idea. I love being here and I don't plan on leaving but I also love Daryl and I know he can't stay here." I began.
"Why can't he?" My dad asked.
"Alexandria is his home, and I'm not taking him away from that. But here me out, what if we traded with the other groups, instead of taking. It's getting more dangerous outside of the walls, you know that. Groups are becoming more willing to kill anything they see rather than just walkers. We could get the Alexandrians involved, the Hill Top, even the Kingdom." I explained. "Please, here me out, Daryl already makes runs for Alexandria and the Hill Top, he can help us out too."
I watched my dad. He was actually pondering my plea. He took his hand and ran it down his beard, his notorious way of showing he was thinking.
"Absolutely fucking not." He finally said. I hung my head down in defeat. "Look, Rowan. I appreciate what you're trying to do but I can't have that."
"Boss, I think your daughter has a point." Simon spoke up. I looked at him, eyes wide. This was the first time I ever heard someone go against my father. "On the past couple runs, we've run into trouble. You know we have, you've seen it first hand." Simon explained.
"You have?" I spoke up.
"There's other groups out there, worse than us. Your daughter is right, I think this is a good idea."
"Excuse the fuck out of you, Simon, but I don't remember giving you permission to talk about that. We said we'd keep it quiet."
"Dad, it's keeping us in danger. You know this is a smart idea, even Simon thinks so. Please, we need to start working together. Daryl can talk to Rick and pass it on to Jesus and Gregory." I told him.
"I can talk to Carol and Morgan, they've been spending time at the Kingdom and they can pass it to Ezekiel." Daryl spoke up. My dad stayed quiet. He knew we were right. This was something that needed to be done. It was safe for everyone, we'd have more people in case we come across more dangerous groups.
"Don't make me fucking regret giving in to this shit." My dad said. I jumped up and almost leaped across the table to hug him.
"Thank you, Daddy." I saw a small smile on his face and he whispered so I could only here.
"I'm proud of you, Ro." I pulled away and nodded at him. "We'll go to Alexandria tomorrow, not to collect. Daryl, you'll help explain to them what's going on. We'll make our rounds to the other communities, explain what's been going on outside the walls." My dad spoke to everyone. "Simon, come on, we need to fill everyone in on what's going on." They both stood up, leaving the three of us.
"I can't believe that worked." Dawson smiled.
"Things are changing, for the better." I told him. Even Daryl looked relieved. We'd be able to spend time together more often, I could possibly redeem myself with Alexandria. Things were looking up.
