It had been a few months since the deal between all of the communities settled.  Things were going well.  I saw Daryl often, a few times a week.  Rick had become more willing to comply and he was allowing me into Alexandria again.  Sometimes things were still quiet between me and the others who lived there, but all it takes is baby steps.

I spent most of the time when I wasn't with Daryl by my dad's side.  He was in the process of teaching Dawson everything he knew.  My dad wanted Dawson to lead the Sanctuary one day.  Dawson was originally hesitant but finally agreed.  He really already was my dad's right hand but now that he was really learning everything, it had settled with him.

The gates opened to reveal Daryl, crossbow in hand.  I smiled and ran over, wrapping my arms around him.

"I was just out on a run, I saw you guys were low on a few medical supplies so the Hilltop wanted to give you some of theirs."  Daryl informed me.  The Hilltop had become everyone's main source for medical care.  Each community became known for something.  Alexandria had food, the Sanctuary had the weaponry, the Hilltop had the medical supplies, and the Kingdom had the space for more survivors.  Of course, every community still had their own of these things.

"Thanks for thinking of us."  I smiled.  My dad walked over to us and gave Daryl a nod.  No matter how much they wouldn't admit it, my dad and Daryl held respect for each other, no matter what happened in the past.

"Here, Negan."  Daryl said, handing over his bag.  "Some medical supplies from the Hilltop, they need ammunition."  My dad nodded and sent Simon to get some extra ammunition to take back to the Hilltop.

"Never would have thought I'd be working with anyone else but I will say, it's worked for the better.  Everyone can finally sleep in peace at night.  Thank you, Daryl, for looking out for everyone."  My dad said sincerely.

Daryl and nodded and turned to me.

"Do you want to come back to Alexandria for a few days?"  He asked me.  "I talked with Rick, he said he wants to forget everything.  He's seen how well everything has been working and holds his trust in you guys.  He means it."  Daryl explained.

"I'd love to.  As long as my dad doesn't need me here."  I looked to my dad for permission.  He held his hands up.

"Go ahead, just be back by Friday."  He told me.  I nodded.  It was only Monday, which means I had plenty of time to spend with Daryl and my old friends back at Alexandria.  I walked through the gates with Daryl.  I didn't need to pack anything as I already kept some of my things with Daryl.  We walked hand in hand and I got on his bike behind him.  He handed me his helmet and I put it on and wrapped my hands tightly around his waist.

As we pulled up to the gates of Alexandria, Rick stood there with the gates open for us.  Rick smiled when he saw me and I walked over to him as he opened his arms.  I hugged him tightly.

"Thank you, for giving me a second chance."  I told him as I pulled away.

"You're always going to be family, no matter what type of fucked up shit you do."  He laughed.

"I can promise you there will be no more of that."  I smiled.  I took the time to catch up with everyone.  They all seemed to like the way things were going and everyone began working together.  Things were good and looking up, even if outside of our community's walls things were still and always will be hard.
