"And so you girls have just broken a record sells high in your home countries of Romania and Georgia?" Robin Roberts, the host of Good Morning America asked, as if telling them the information.
"Yes," Lilium replied. "I was very excited to receive a call from Mikheil Saakasvili himself congratulating me on my success." She smiled and sighed, "And for also thanking me for giving people information on what Georgia is!"
Crina and Lilium giggled together as Robin smiled at the girls. The two girls held hands while sitting on an ugly orange couch. The two with their arms wrapped around each other in an expression of love and friendship.
"Crina?" Robin said giving her to full floor to speak.
"Goodness," Crina said widen eyed. "I couldn't believe that we are the first large band since O-Zone's Dragostea din tei!"
Robin looked confused for a moment. "Numa-Numa as most people know the song. Anyway, I was so very excited to learn that we topped the charts in Romania, Georgia, and Ukraine. Both of us were like this when we learned the news."
The two girl's showed Robin how they reacted by giggling and throwing their arms up and cheering about how they had managed to get so far up the charts within only a few weeks out. Lilium had been very glad to hear the news from the president of Georgia himself that they had topped the charts with their album.
He was just glad that someone had managed to get Georgia on the map as a bigger World power. Culture power anyway, because no matter what you did Georgia would always be that small country near the Black Sea.
Robin became serious suddenly. Lilium had heard that all of these American reporters would be stiff. But she had not expected the hosts of national television programs to become so quiet and boring as well.
"Girls," She began. "How old are you both?"
"We are both 16," Crina answered without a moment's hesitation.
"Well, I know this sounds silly but girls," She sighed and took a deep breath. "But are you really lesbians? I mean you both are so young and now very famous pop stars. Why make up your love life now?"
"What do you mean?" Lilium asked before Crina could come back with a smart remark.
"What I mean girls is that you are young and you more than likely don't know what you want." Robin said. "Are you really lesbians? Or is this a stage act? Or just simply a rebellious phase against your parents?"
"We are really lesbians," Crina replied without allowing Lilium to dare interrupt her again. "The thing is no one believes us. We love each other, we care for each other, I would take a bullet for Lilium any day. That is how much I love her."
Crina grabbed Lilium's left hand and kissed it causing Lilium to blush on camera. "We may be young but we would do anything for each other. And this Robin, is real." Lilium said in a calm voice.
The girls shared a quick kiss on the lips as the camera man zoomed in on the two girls. Proving they weren't fake will become harder as their career's go on, however, for now they had each other and that was all that mattered.
Lilium had accepted Crina's romantic friendship, however, she'd never call herself Crina's girl friend. They were friends, and friends will do anything for each other. Isn't that what love is? Being anything for the person you love, even if you do not love them in a very romantic way.
"Girls," Robin sighed. "What do your parent's think of this?"
"At first," Lilium began. "Our parent's worried about having a girl band because they knew fighting would ensue. However, when it became clear that I had a girl crush on Crina, they told me to just play the part of a singer and nothing else. And for a while I went along with the game of not feeling anything but friendship for Crina. But as you can see now, that didn't happen."
"So this was originally an act?" Robin asked.
"No," Lilium replied keeping her head free of any ideas of anxiety. "What I meant was my feelings. My parents told me when Kevin told us that this was going to be a girl band that I would have to sing with another girl, that I had to make sure that I didn't get too close to Crina."
"So where did About You come from?" Robin asked, looking more towards Crina.
"It came from the idea I had," Crina stated. "I had a huge crush on Lilium, and she was still listening to her parents like most teenagers do," She said sarcastically causing Lilium to giggle. "So I told Kevin about this story of two girls that are in love but one believes it is wrong. That was the beginning of About You."
"Ah..." Robin said nodding her head up and down. "So this song is real for both of you?"
"Yes," Lilium said. "The song is very real. I didn't know that Crina had a crush on me until she told me what it meant."
The girls smiled at each other as they prepared for yet another round of uncomfortable questions. This interview Kevin had set up just so they could get more media coverage until the reality show aired in on Saturday night. Lilium was so sick of the cameras following them around, but at least it was nearly over.
All they had to do is deal with the cameras on them for another two months and then they were free... for at least another two months. This was going to be a very rough next two months with show premiering as well as their North American tour starting this evening. They start in New York City, then move over the border to Canada.
"Now," Robin said. "Do you girls ever wish to get married?"
"We are only sixteen!" The girls said at the same time.
"Goodness, for all we know we will just live together until we in our 90s." Crina continued. "We love each other, however, we are still too young for marriage."
"I see," Robin nodded. "So you are too young to get into the idea of marriage?"
"Yes, that is what she said." Lilium replied confused as always. "We will get married, but we are only 16. We will get married, but not until we are at least in out 20s."
"All right," Robin said like she didn't know who she was speaking to. "Is it true you girls are starring in a new television show?"
You went from marriage to television... all right. Lilium thought still thrown back a little by all of the questions they were being asked. They knew that the American media was different in many ways to the European media. Americans were only interested in providing information that interested the viewers not stated the plain, dull facts.
"Yes," Crina replied. "We are going to star in a new reality television show on MTV. We have been filming for about a month now and things have been, well interesting to say the least. If you've watched any MTV network you may have seen the trailers for the new show."
"When is the show going to premiere?" Robin asked as if she was very uninterested.
"In two days," Lilium said with a smile painted onto her face. "We are how you say, feverish to see this show air and see if anyone actually likes us or not."
"Well, you girls both seem very nice to me," She said.
The flashing light on the camera turned on bright red signaling a commercial break.
Robin looked at the camera, and said. "We will have Crestfallen's performance of About You after the break. Stick around to see these lovely ladies after the break."
"Cut!" The director yelled.
"That was one of the weirdest interviews we've ever had." Lilium whispered to Crina in Romanian.
"Agreed," Crina replied. "I knew the American media was a gossip column but I didn't expect it to be like this!"
Crina was right, Lilium had to agree. This was all about getting the story, not about the girl's music. She hadn't even asked them what their favorite song off the album was. Robin was only concerned with the girl's sexual orientation.
