“And tonight ladies and gentlemen we have the lovely ladies of Crestfallen!” David Letterman an old man around the age of sixty something as far as the girls could tell.
Crina and Lilium walked out onto the stage as the large crowd of people began to yell out Crestfallen in high-pitched voices as happy as if they were seeing God. They were fans the girls could tell just by the way some of them were wearing t-shirts that were written with the words, “Love is love.”
The girls themselves that evening appeared in the room wearing t-shirts that said, “Fuck war.” Though they had to cover us the u in fuck because of censorship in the United States. They wanted to show their support for peace and not for all the wars America seemed to support.
Crina and Lilium sat in the same chair as they did their best not to fall over onto one another. The girls seemed happy because of how close they were in the chair, they were not going to complain about anything that allowed them to be close to each other.
“Good evening girls!” The kind middle-aged man said more staring at the girls t-shirts than the two girls.
“Good evening Mister Letterman.” Crina said in reply as the two girls got a little more settled in the leather chair. “We have been looking forward to finally getting on this television show. Lilium and I had heard that if you manage to get on here you have everything set in stone.”
“Pretty much.” He said. “So girls tell me, is it true that Lilium was really taken away by her parents without her word?”
“Oh, yes,” Lilium said as she rolled her eyes. “It was terrible, I was forced to go to some sort of correctional hospital that was supposed to cure your children’s homosexual desires.”
The man’s mouth dropped open. “Your parents sent you to a mental hospital?”
“Yes,” Lilium replied. “It was one of the worst experiences of my entire life. My parents told me that until I was cured I was not allowed out into the public life again. Thank goodness I managed to find a way to trick them.”
“So you openly admit to plotting against your parents?” He asked.
“No, I did not plot against them,” Lilium stated confused by him asking her if she meant to do this more as a criminal action rather than simply getting back to her love. “I needed to get out of there. They were so cruel to us, they never let me go outside, or get extra blankets. It was terribly cold and…”
Lilium could not stop the tears from coming out as the television host could not help but feel guilty for making her talk about it. Crina grabbed Lilium and rather forced her to accept the fact that she was here and never going to go back to that fucking terrible place.
The studio audience was sympathy to the end for the two girls as they held together for at least thirty seconds before calming back down. The girls were getting sick of acting like innocent little girls. They had been hurt in ways that had forced them to become adults so quickly.
Adulthood was terrible, they were out here. No more… they were sick of dealing with this. They were not going to deal with another heartbreak captured on camera. They were stronger than this and if they wanted to see it, they had go get their own types of sadness.
After another few seconds Mr. Letterman turned back to the girls. “So your manager has announced that you are going to have a new video out soon. True or false?”
“Completely true!” Crina practically shouted in joy. “Our only issue was that filming was a killer. I hate filming outside when it is cold.”
